The first room they offered us was beside a freshly painted room so the smell was kinda lingering on our room. But as we requested the owner to have us transferred, they were so considerate to change us to a more comfortable one. Staff were also attentive and nice. But we were just shocked about the 10PM curfew. I also love how they have complimentary breakfaat :)

Love the amenities like the pool and the gym. There's not many resorts in Samal that has a gym. Breakfast buffet was really good. Staffs were all friendly.
Nestled within tropical gardens, Chema's by the Sea Cottages provides charming, standalone cottages with thatched roofs and wood flooring. There is an outdoor swimming pool on site.

The quietness and cleanliness of the place. The room is very spacious. The BR could use a little more room to put personal stuff.

Half of the menu wasn’t available at night time food and cocktail menu since apparently no bartender at night time so for a simple pinacolada the chef had to come out of his kitchen to do it Wich we found very pro-active from him he cooked a whole 9 kg fish for us to perfection so big up to the chef and his team front of house needs to work on their knowledge after all it is pretty expensive for what you got 11000 pesos for two cottage this expensive for Samal

Samal is a quaint and beautiful island. There are some nice places like the Monfort Bat Sanctuary and the Giant Clam Conservancy. I went to the white sand beach for swimming. Being in a channel, the current was swift so I couldn't really go out beyond the swimming area, and it suddenly gets deep as well. I didn't like it for swimming, more for touring.

Conveniently located as it’s just few minutes away from the Waterfront Hotel. Chemas offers free boat transfer which made the trip hassle-free. Chema’s by the sea has a rustic vibe. The nature’s landscape definitely added to its beauty and uniqueness. The pool is clean and the beach is nice to swim at when its high tide. The staff is the highlight of the place I would say. Approachable, friendly and well-trained. The food is also their strong asset, it is indeed worth the penny. All the meals we ordered are delish.
Location if very far but the water is so clear compared to other beaches in Samal Island. It is not a white beach but it is very clean compared to a normal beach now a days. There were not much guest when we book so the resort was somehow exclusive to us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
I really enjoyed the nature , silence and relaxing location of the Vida Hotel . We can add also hospitality of the owner and the all staff. Highly recommended if you want to experience this part of Philippines . La vie est toujours belle ! Enjoy !
