- Breakfast tastes very good and its a big portion (eggs, joghurt, selfmade bread, cheese, ham,…)
- It is like a small cute cabin, you live there alone, owners have a house next to it, your parking spot is directly next to the cabin - everything is very private.
- There is a small terrace with nice view on the ocean.
- Restaurants are nearby (e.g. Local kitchen or italian pizza - but you have to consider the opening hours/days; you can also ask the owners, they are helpful to recommend sth.)
- The owners are super friendly and really nice people

Run down, unfriendly staff, absolutely not worth 4 stars. Location great but otherwise a very badly run hotel.
The boutique 4-star Hotel do Canal is situated in Horta on Faial Island. It is just 100 metres from the beach and offers panoramic views of Pico Mountain and the bay.

A comfortable hotel on the harbour with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great. It's worth the extra cost to have a view overlooking the boat harbour. You are centrally located for the town and harbour exploration.
Set in a 16th century fortress overlooking Horta Bay and Pico island, this Pousada hotel features a swimming pool and regional restaurant. Most of the air-conditioned rooms have views of the marina.
