The room had a smell when we entered and though we opened the door, it continued and had to leave the window half opened at night. The window in our room was broken and stuck with a tape, if it was just me and my husband, I wouldn’t have an issue, but I had a 3 year old. The location was great, close to everything and supermarket and we were able to take a stroll next to the river.

New and modern hotel/pension. Extremely kind staff. We arrived one day late and they did not charge us! They just changed the reservation for one day later, that was a beautiful gesture!

For me, the most important thing is that the hotel is very quiet and that’s the main reason I will return for. We had a room at the top floor with terrace. The room was spotless, the bed is comfortable however for a 4 stars hotel the pillows are not very good. They need to be changed with better quality pillows. The bathroom is big, the staff leaves toiletries, there’s extra towels and bathrobes. Overall it’s a good hotel and I enjoyed the stay. The only thing to be aware of is, the sauna is off and there’s an extra cost if you want to use it. As a guest at the hotel I feel like the use of the facilities should be complimentary.
Also, the restaurant - breakfast is ok but food in general is bad. Bland and expensive. I would not waste my money on food there. The restaurant staff is really nice so 4 stars for them but not the food.

There are things to do in this area, be sure to get informed before going, to see what would be attractive to you. For me, the proximity to some very nice mountain trails was the deciding factor, but for other people it's just relaxation and treatment facilities and things like that. You can enjoy restaurants and pools and there is a river ferry service available. The whole Calimanesti-Caciulata area is rather clean and well maintained, compared to other similar places.
