excellent it’s hotel stand on the property of Carlstens Fästning./former prison. you sleep in renovated room that may been the officers room. privat bathroom. A very proffesional guided tour of the castle was included. we got picked up by the staff at the ferry

This hotel is in a beautiful location on the west coast of Sweden, but if you arrive on a Sunday in October its like being in a ghost town. There were no staff at the hotel, and we had to let ourselves into the room. Which was okay! We enjoyed the sauna very much, and getting into the cold water was nice too.

The location is perfect for getting away from the busy life. There is quietness, nature, a beautiful view of the ocean, and gracious hosts. The lodging is simple, but very satisfying. it's clear the owners really care about this place. They just opened an additional room above the garage, we were fortunate to try it for a night. It is SUPERB! Highly recommended if you can get it.

Our host was most hospitable and helpful. We had a misunderstanding about bed linens being included, which he graciously provided free of charge. We loved the space and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful area and this place had it all. Tent and RV camping, houses to rent that were roomy and well thought out. Dorm rooms with shared baths/kitchens. So CLEAN! Friendly and helpful staff. If we are ever back to Sweden from the United States, we would stay here a much longer!
