We traveled to Nyköping to visit friends over the holidays.
We traveled to Nyköping to visit friends over the holidays. We did not expect to experience a lovely town center (which might need a few more trees, but it was winter, so hard to tell). We walked quite a bit and enjoyed hills, river walkways, and some reasonably good restaurants. Ät ('eat' in Swedish) Restaurant was open and offered some good pizza, fish and chips, wraps and more substantial meals for prices slightly above average. Small but nice city you can take great pictures of old...
Small but nice city you can take great pictures of old castle and park on water side. Uber is available but no cars were available so bus 515 related to skavsta airoport is very good. The 515 bus station is 5 minutes walk from nykoping city center and Road by bus nykoping - skavsta airoport it takes 10 minutes and buses are departing hourly. We’re only there for about 24h and we struggled to find anything to do. Definitely a pit stop area. No exciting restaurants, no exciting shops or museums, just nothingness. I can’t imagine why people would live here unless they’re as interesting as a piece of cucumber. Highlight was eating at KFC, which says it all really.Guest review byStephanieSweden

Be aware that a busy street / highway is close by but this did not bother us. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast choice is okay for a 3 star hotel.
