Wonderful mountains that will never disappoint. Beautifully marked routes. You can build a route for any level of physical and technical conditions. If you have time and opportunity, it is better to find an opportunity to book places in huts directly on the routes, since it will take from two to three hours to get from the bottom (from Tatranska Lomnica or any other village) to the alpine meadows and another 1-2 hours to descend. Let me remind tents are prohibited. If possible, travel in the off-season and not on weekends, in order to avoid people crowds. Take care of nature, do not leave garbage or any signs of your stay in the mountains. Be happy.

Lovely town.
Lovely town. Very elegant, with splendid views of Lomnicky Stit, Kezmarski Stit and the Vidly Ridge. Quite a few pricey - and very fancy hotels - lots of restaurants. Superb train station - renovated, clean, bit old-school but in the best way possible.
Overall I think one of the loveliest town in the Tatras belt.

Tatranska Lomnica is a gem.
Tatranska Lomnica is a gem. It is perfect for any outside activity in the nature. We loved the trails, the mountain huts, but some services are pretty expensive (cabin lift, parking 10 EUR/hour!; some restaurants).

Tatranská Lomnica is a very beautiful and charming place, the view from the city is stunning. The train station is in the city center, this time we did not have the chance to try it, sure next time we will. We used the cable cars up to Skalnaté Pleso, it is rather expensive but with small children it is way too exhausting to climb up instead. (Up to Lomnický štít you have to pay a fortune.) We haven't visited any restaurants but there are many possibilities. Overall it is a unique place, worth to see it.

Lomnica looks less poshy and more quiet then Smokovec or Strbsko Pleso, i recommend it to anyone who wants more nature and less cars and ppl but still wants all benefits of resort town like good restaurants and nice appartments and mountains just next door. Hovewer best and hardest tracking and hicking trails better start in Smokovec. If you going for easy or medium hicking then Lomnica is best spot for you. cuz there is beautiful trail from Lomnica to Smokovec through forest and waterfalls. Highly recommend coffee shop Kredenček, they know how to make coffee and cakes.

A small but very nice town in the High Tatras mountains.
A small but very nice town in the High Tatras mountains. There is a store in the town, not particularly big, but it had everything. There are cafes and restaurants. There is even a children's playroom. For the spa center (where there is a swimming pool, saunas and a couple of slides for children), I recommend going to Atrium wellness center, which is located in the town of Stary Smakovec located~ 7km from Tatranska Lomnica. The town has a train station, it is easy to reach other Tatra towns such as Stary Smakovec or Štrebske Pleso, Poprad. There is a good ski center in the town.

Upon arrival we were welcomed by very friendly and professional staff. We had a tour around the hotel which has so much history and has over 600 painting displayed around the hotel. It has a beautiful character. We had breakfast and dinner at Sissi restaurant and the experience was great, great ambience and beautiful food presentation. I would recommend to offer more vegetarian options at dinner.
Wellness was wonderful and felt very private. Location of the hotel is about 1-2min walking distance to the train station.
This was our third stay here, and we would definately come back again. We had a smaller appartment the size was ok for two, it was clean, warm and well equiped. We could even see the mountains from our balcony. The staff are nice and helped us in any way. The location is good, restaurants, supermarket and skilifts are a few minutes walk but the location of the appartments i a quite place. The town is nice and calm. Perfect basis for skiing or hiking in the region.
Very nice hotel in a beautiful old (but well renovated) historic building. Friendly staff, free parking, excellent breakfast & wellness. Heated outdoor pool with a view of mountain peaks is a gem! Cable car & aquapark tickets (Tatralandia or Besenova) were complimentary during our stay which also makes this hotel a nice value for money. Looking forward to be back.
I spent a few days in the apartment with my family. It was very comfortable for 5 people, it was clean, beautiful and well equipped. It was close to the center, restaurants, shops and the ski slopes were a few minutes' walk away. We will be back.
Walking distance to the ski slopes. Large rooms, vell organized breakfeast. Very friendly staff. Close to the city center and restaurans. Train station close by but what is interesting, couldn't really hear the trains.
