We stayed at Crystal Bay Yacht Club twice during our month trip as we loved the location right on the beautiful crystal beach 🏝️
First time we had a standard bungalow near the pool and the second time we stayed in a hillside bungalow- both were comfortable and modern with a large tv and good standard bathroom.
The resort restaurant is right on the beach and offers a large menu with vegan and gluten free options and the staff were helpful altering meals for me! Pretty tasty food and was a great option for chilled dinner at the room when we had a chilled night 👌
There are 5 cabanes for customer use along the beach front which were a great addition and we used a lot! Would recommend visiting the Lamai night market ( we went Fridays but I think it’s on most nights) which has amazing food stalls (including a vegan Thai street food stand!), shops and live music.
Would stay again! Thank you 🙏

A lovely small boutique hotel. I loved that you could get breakfast any time - no rushing down before buffet closes as in larger hotels. The restaurant is open 7am-5pm so no evening meals but if you turn right out of hotel and walk about 400 metres there is a very good beach front restaurant. Jerome and Amy are so helpful. The first morning my wife was feeling unwell. I asked Jerome where nearest pharmacy was and he took me down there on his motorbike. It is a bit out of town so if you like the hustle and bustle outside your door it wont be for you but a taxi into town was easy to organise with Jerome or Amy. There is free coffee and snacks for residents in the reception area.

More quieter location,, good breakfast and the staff is very friendly. The room was not so close to the road, so we didn't hear a lot of the noise from it (better bring ear plugs).

It feels the hotel is from paper, you can hear everything and there are strips full of loud bars so sleeping is not really good. Breakfasts are rather poor. Closest beach is dirty and not nice at all compare to rest of Samui. I didnt like the area at all.
Staff is amazing though.

There were great restaurants and shops in Lamai. We took our car and managed to find free parking but it seems a motorbike is the easiest way to get in and out. It is a very busy, bustling place with a very large night market. It's very close to the sightseeing areas of Koh Samui. I recommend Europcar for a hire car - the staff were amazing

Lamai is full of Thai 'character', including the usual restaurants, bars, massage facilities and shops and of course has its beach. It's a more relaxed and less busy place than Chaweng for example, and we found the Thai people here to be more laid back than say Bangkok or Chaweng.
The worst thing is the traffic on the main road that connects Lamai to other parts of the island. It's very noisy and hectic at times and it is often not easy to cross the road safely. By using the local scooter/bike facilities one takes a serious risk in my view - most danger coming from other tourists as opposed to the locals (and I've held a motorcycle licence for over 50 years).
The town suffers from rubbish strewn around vacant lots and smelly sewer vents but this is common for most of Thailand and the place has other charms to make up for these 'niceties'.
We mostly walked everywhere but cheap taxis abound for longer journeys.
There are lots of Thai restaurants serving good food at very economic prices and also there are some Sushi, French and Western style places. Plenty to choose from and they offer excellent value for money.

Lamai has the best beaches on Samui, the bars and restaurants are excellent and cater for westerners, l would recommend it for families and the older generation, the younger backpackers go to Chaweng, l went there last year and it wasn’t for me boom boom music great the younger generation.

Beach had lots of rubbish and dirty in places . Disappointing destination as a bit rundown. Weather wasn’t great when we were there , so might have added to the disappointment.
Nicer places to visit in Thailand .

Perfect balance, beach is as good if not better than Chaweng for a lazy swim as the water is clear and there are less waves. The walking strip has all the modern western restaurants mixed with classic Thai, beer bars etc. Bars and Restaurants are much more reasonably priced than Chaweng, good mix of singles/families/travelers from all walks of life enjoying this paradise. Night markets are great for some food and drinks but do get busy….because its good! Overall a very satisfying Thailand experience with a good dose of western facilities.

Lamai is one of the calmer places in Samui, locals say its close the vibe of the the early Samui Days when tourists were unaware of the parties.
Go to the night market, small, but great vibe.
A lot of mid to upmarket bars and eateries in the lanes around the night market, for all taste brackets.

This is the best place on Koh Samui i have ever been. Location is perfect! Bungalows are so close to the beach (about 30 m:)) and there is so close to the city and food markets and restaurants from here. Near by is also muay thai camp (5 min walking). Utopia has its own restaurant on the beach where we ate every day good breakfast. There are lots of trees and nature between bungalows. Its quiet place and the space between houses enaugh to find intimicy. For sure i will came back to Utopia next time!
Amazing place to stay in Koh Samui. Excellent value for money. The pool are is very nice with good view to the beach although would prefer to have sunbeds also on the beach. Overall, the hotel experience is amazing - staff, food (also very good breakfast), cleanliness and location.
Special mention to super helpful receptionists Em and Fonny who are truly giving their best to make your experience on the island as pleasant as possible!
Good facilities, good food, polite and helpful staff, central to everything and everything there that we required for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. After comparing Samui Jasmine Resort to other resorts on Lamai Beach, we feel that Samui Jasmine Resort was amongst the best resorts and definitely had the best section of beach in front of it.
it was such a wonderful stay at Bonny hotel! The staff were so friendly, always checked in on us, gave us great info when we needed it and we’re a joy to stay with. Lamai is easily the spot to stay in Koh Samui and Bonny Hotel is right in the heart while still being quiet and relaxing.
Small tropical paradise in busy Koh Samui. Excellent room, great swimming pool and excellent facilities.
This resort met all expectations.
Spa next door and restaurant Paper Moon around the corner with great local food.
