I can’t say enough about the wonderful host. He was so polite and friendly. The place is tucked away and somewhat tricky to locate but once there the accommodations were very good. Comfortable bed, hot water for showers and good Wi-Fi. If I had to travel to Mae Hon Son again, I would choose to stay again.

One night on our mae hong so loop.
Good to visit mae sariang, even if nothing special to see. The hotel was close to the center, walking distance.
Hotel was good, people kind.

Could have easily stayed in the front yard the whole day. You got a bar and food all in one place. The staff were amazing, very helpful and willing to help with anything. Thanks a lot for everything!!
The area around is beautiful situated in the mountains.
The area around is beautiful situated in the mountains. The roads bend and rise up and down with very little traffic. There are many local restaurants offering cheap local foods. A great place to stop while travelling around the area.

Mae Sarioang is the one crossroad of the R108 and R105 between Mae Hong Song in the North, Mae Sot in the South and Hot/Chiang Mai to the East. Mae Sariang is for many an overnight stop from one of those places to one of those places, what does not gives Mae Sariang the attention it deserves. It is a great hub, for a good number of day trips into the mountain, to and along the Salaweng river and to a great number of viewpoints on relatively good paved roads and some dirt roads. It has conserved the old days charm of a slower Northern Thailand / Lana small town with enough bars, restaurants and coffee shops to fill a week. A good place to stay a bit longer and explore the hill tops, river villages and coffee plantations, before you are heading off to the next point.

A small town which most people use as a stopover on the Mae Hong Son Loop. It is a lovely place with some lively local spots on the river.
Trekking and rafting available.
Recommend Ching Ching bar for drinks and Redwood and Coriander restaurant for great food. Cheap massage in local spots.

Mae Sariang is beautiful.
Mae Sariang is beautiful. Pwo Karen tribes make up about 50% of the town. It lays in a beautiful green valley surrounded by tall mountains and has 2 rivers run through it. Lovely views! Glad we stopped and visited friends. Great coffee shops too. Nice stop over if you are doing the Mae Hong Son loop. We started in Chiang Mai, then to Pai, Mae Hong Son and Mae Sariang and back up to Chiang Mai. We took 5 days and enjoyed all the viewpoints and highlights along the way. We ate dinner at the Coriander Restaurant and the the Salmon dinner was the best I have had. Salmon cooked to perfection!

We arrived at the hotel and got our room right away, place seems nice it is on the river and we walked to the pool area to check it out next door (allowed to use pool) but weather was cool and pool cold. We went to look for a place to eat and we found one near hotel but the food were no good. The breakfast at the hotel was ok alot of asian type of food. There is a parking area in front of the hotel but it fills up quickly so once you find a spot you do not move.
The host family is very sweet and welcoming. It’s a good option when stopping in MAE Sariang. Even if we didn’t have breakfast included, they offered us buns they make every day.
I stayed at this hotel while doing the Mae Hong Son Loop, and for me, it was perfect to have a private room at a good price. Everything was comfortable and super clean.
