The host was incredible and definitely made the stay worth it! We found ourselves stranded at Alishan and he came to pick us up personally. We had encountered a fellow solo traveler who had been stranded in Alishan without a place to stay and he came to the rescue and offered her a place to stay, as well. He offered to stop to let us buy something for dinner, and showed us where to watch the sunrise and catch the bus the next morning. The facilities were nice and clean with a lot of amenities. Would definitely recommend this place!

The attentive staff made my stay easy and comfortable. At least two English speakers here. In a stroke of serendipity, the hotel co-owner introduced me to a retired guest who excelled in my particular profession (public policy for the economy). Yeashow Villa's breakfast was a well-rounded feast from a set menu. The dining room looks over a lovely fish pond. My room on the second floor was quiet. Old Street where the market is closed down around 5pm. I had a screen door and balcony with mountain views. The bathroom is large with an enclosed shower. The historic trail to Ruili is challenging and delightful with bamboo forests and venerable trees, the main reason I visited. In Ruili, you can get lunch 0.7 km from the trailhead at the hotel restaurant 野薑花庭園餐廳.
Hotel Indigo Alishan by IHG features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, a garden and restaurant in Fanlu. This 5-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk.

The facilities are new and clean. Staff are polite and helpful (particularly Jing Ying from the breakfast restaurant). Breakfast was great. Great sunrise view from the hotel room.

Host picked us up from bus station and did a tea tasting for us - he was just overall incredibly kind and thoughtful! Gave us food recommendations as well and walking/hiking recommendations.

The guest house is conveniently located, it’s easy to access Alishan with the bus, and we got to learn so much about tea and life in Taiwan from the couple of owners. They were incredibly kind and generous to us, and even drove us to a restaurant nearby so we could get dinner.
