The floors - I'm glad there is no carpet. It wasn't loud, even though we were on the front of the property.

Located in Alexandria, Virginia, within the old town. This hotel features on-site dining and spa services. A 42-inch flat-screen TV is featured in all rooms. Washington, DC is 8 miles away.

Enjoyed the location of the hotel being close to public transportation and far enough from Old Town to be quiet but close enough to walk a few blocks to things to see. Restaurant on premise is small, intimate and quiet compared to other options in town.

    The hotel was well kept.

The hotel was well kept. The location was a bit awkward to get to into. Not easily accessible, requires u-turns to access entrance. If you are booking with an APP, note the free breakfast is not what it appears, as it is just a credit to a restaurant with a limited menu, and it may not cover all your guests. Rooms are kept well, but heater controls do not operate the AC in the winter months and rooms may be on the warmer side.

There are multiple historic sites in Alexandria and it is very close to Mount Vernon, which is must-see and is outstanding to visit. I find Alexandria is also very convenient to get to sites in D.C. if using a car, especially on weekends and holidays. There is also a Metro subway train stop in Alexandria, but I have not used it.

I grew up here and was visiting family, but we like to play tourist when visiting. We challenge ourselves to find new and unusual places to go and this year we went to the old Apothecary shop and had lunch at Gadsby's Tavern. None of us had been to either before and we had a blast! Definitely worth going to Gadsby's for the peanut soup, if nothing else! We all got something different and shared a little and everyone was delighted with their choices. The waitress took photos of us in this historic building that claims to have been George Washington's favorite pub and the location of Thomas Jefferson's inaugural ball!

Wonderful city to explore by walking or driving (however, drivers can be a little aggressive). I felt safe at night and the restaurants were amazing. So much variety in cuisine and service in the restaurants we visited was exceptional. Where we stayed was near Prince Street and King, so we were right in the middle of Old Town three blocks from the Potomac River. Getting to DC and the museums/monuments was not hard via the bus and train-took about 35-45 minutes. Also close to Mt Vernon.

It was close to all of the activities we had planned to attend. The breakfast was great. We were hoping to get there in 2.5 hours but due to traffic it was closer to 4 hours. The town appeared nice but lots of construction was going on which mad travel difficult. When all is said and done that should turn out to be a great thing for the town. Several good placed to eat close by.
