The breakfast had a good variety of food choices. I had pancakes and my husband had an egg taco. They had fresh fruit and yogurt which the last 2 hotels did not have available.

We were just passing thru from our visit to the Grotto of the Redemption in West Bend, IA. It's a short distance away from Algona. While in Algona, the hotel clerk recommended Miller's Bar and Grill for supper. Great choice. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and it wasn't too expensive.

While Algona doesn't have the most to offer there are wonderful things you can do.They have a P.O.W museum as well as a nativity scene built and painted by German P.OWs in WWII. Theres also a Kossuth County natural history museum that just recently opened. There are several parks and even a few disc golf courses. There is a beautiful state park which has alot of trails. I always recommend eating at Cinco De Mayo, it's an amazing Mexican restaurant. The downtown has several shops and boutiques to browse through and there's a newer coffee shop downtown that has lots to offer.

Nice quiet room, nice view from room of grass & trees.

Nice quiet room, nice view from room of grass & trees. Went to eat at a Mexican restaurant, their margaritas were really strong nut the food was good. Not much to do in Algona because everything was closed due to Coronavirus. Pool was closed, was told until I checked in, was not happy because this was the reason I booked this hotel.
