We had no hot water on the first night. I complained about it first thing in the morning and they stated that maintenance would be in shortly to look at it. I was expecting it to be fixed by the time we got back in the evening. I went to go check the water on the second night and it had not been taken care of. I went to the desk again, maybe they would switch our rooms, in hopes that a hot shower was in our future. Nope, no open rooms so no hot water again. My daughter had just finished day 2 of dance competitions and was in need of a shower badly. No help was given at all or any consolation for the trouble that we had faced. Maybe this isn't a problem for some, but when you want a home away from home with practical amenities, there should be some sort of gesture from the responsible party.

No adequate lighting outside and parking lot. My security lock device was broke on my room door, lamp shades were cracked. I had to unplug the air conditioner because the controls were working. The bathroom was not clean.
Nice little town. Plenty of shopping and grocery stores.
Nice little town. Plenty of shopping and grocery stores. River road and pretty bridge. Grafton is close. Has a riverboat ride zip lining etc Per Marquette is at the end of Grafton hiking has a lodge. Alton has a good restaurant right across the street from the motel and in the motel. Fast Eddies if you like a casual atmosphere for food

Finding out the history of Alton was a real eye-opener.
Finding out the history of Alton was a real eye-opener. To know that Alton was one of the safe havens for the underground railroad during the times of Slavery that negros found safety and help from the locals, was heart warming.
That one of the tallest men, Robert Wadlow was a native.

Breakfast was great in the morning. Room was clean, but could use some updating. We were there for a baseball tournament and if we won we would need to stay another night, but unfortunately they wouldn’t let us stay another night since the carpets were getting replaced on another floor so we had to go to a different hotel. Originally the front desk said they had enough rooms if we needed to stay another night.
The Best Western is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in the past year. The staff was polite & courteous. I had a great stay & my visit was like being at home.. Thank you Best Western Management & all the hotel staff. Y'all did an amazing job. See you next time
