Everyone was exceptionally nice and professional, especially Ryan! They helped accommodate us in our room, very professional, and very sweet!

The heat didn't work. They are new owners, and they are updating the roof, and some of the rooms. There are work trucks of the people who stay to do the renovations. Dumpsters, Boxes strewn around. No carpets on the floor so when you come in from the outside, there is no place to wipe your feet. The mud and dirt are dragged in on the floor. The lamp shades have holes. Beat up. We thought we booked a hotel room but it was a motel. We didn't stay for breakfast due to the condition of the property.

Well, it looks like just a motel on the outside, every room is unique with interesting furniture and beautiful artwork.
The simple continental breakfast was also very good, with lots of nice options, like yogurt and granola, fresh fruit, and toasted bagels.
I suggest going to dinner right next-door at the Publyk house.

People upstairs were awake all night, making a ruckus, yelling at each other walking all over the place, jumping on beds, singing, tripping out!!!. Pa
per thin walls and ceiling. Beds were small, toilet very low to the ground, bathtub was midget size.
HORRIBLE STAY. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We ate at a couple of Breweries and the Publyk House.
We ate at a couple of Breweries and the Publyk House. We also had breakfast at the Blue Henn and Papa Pete's. All these places where great. If time permitted we had other places we would have checked out. The temperature was actually warm for the time of year, so we didn't get to go ice skating outside.

We have been going to Bennington for over 30 years and love the area for its scenic views, historical significance, and friendly people. Downtown Bennington has a lot of little shops and places for meals that are all situated in a walking friendly area.
Many quaint little shops in the area, we always make sure at least once on our trips to have dinner at the Madison Brewing Co (https://www.madisonbrewingco.com) on Rt 9 in downtown. Great selection of beers and the food it fantastic. Also north of Bennington in East Arlington is the Chocolatorium (https://www.villagepeddlervt.com) for those with a sweet tooth for handmade chocolates. Just south of Bennington center in Rt 7 is the Apple Barn for gifts, baked goods and of course fresh apples.

Bennington was an hour from Tanglewood.
Bennington was an hour from Tanglewood. The hotel did not have a minimum stay so it was a good alternative. We expected more of a downtown with more dining choices. We ate at Madison Brewery which was good.

The hotel is in a good location with a grocery store within walking distance; the staff are friendly and helpful; also a nice pool and a very good breakfast, but not all the rooms have a fridge and you have to ask for a room with one--you shouldn't have to ask.

Nice compact little town.
Nice compact little town. We were there about 16 hours-tried two restaurants. The 421 was a great beer/restaurant and the Blue Ben was great for a big breakfast. We noticed a nice, independent bookstore in town, although it was closed when we were there. There was some public art on the street: a colourful cougar sculpture.

Bennington is a beautiful old fashioned New England town with a couple of excellent diners and nice local craft shops. Sadly the museum of the battle of Bennington was closed due to earlier flooding in Vermont but that gives me a reason to come back at a later date.

The location is fabulous. It’s convenient to all of Bennington, as well as Routes 7 and 7A, for exploring all the surrounding towns. The inn is beautiful and we were sorry we didn’t have more time there to sit and relax on the pretty porch or perhaps play a game or two in the sitting room. Joe is a perfect host and we hope to go back soon.
We were traveling to do a college visit to Bennington, this was the perfect place!! Publyk house was right there for food which was great! Breakfast was nice, but Heath was AWESOME! Great conversation, very knowledgeable of the area, and a delight to spend time with!
