We got booked into a handicap room, which we did not ask for. We didn’t know it would be a handicap room until we checked in, there was nothing on the reservation indicating this. There was no couch to sit on or carpet on the floor, which is what we expect when staying in a hotel room.

Beautiful historic property. The rooms are small, no microwave. I enjoyed seeing the campus of Berea college and interacting with the students working at the Inn and shops. The shops share fun to peruse, but many of the same products can be found in several stores. Some handmade items are extremely pricey.

Front desk staff was very nice. Doors to rooms were only accessible from outside, which wasn’t my favorite thing but, not a deal breaker. What WAS horrible was the stench that hit me when I walked in the room. If I could get to put it into words, it would be a frat house and wet dog combined. The room itself was dirty and gross. But the beds were clean, which made us feel better about staying here. If it weren’t so late, we would’ve found somewhere else to stay. I now understand why all the reviews were from almost a year ago. Overall, I give it a 4/10 ONLY because the beds were clean and we only saw 1 bug…

Beautiful property with horses, goats, chickens and dogs. Lots of things to do. The owner bakes fresh goodies for your enjoyment and they were delicious.
Awesome mini bar and fresh eggs and cream in fridge! Even a bourbon sampling in the evening by the fireplace. It was just a lovely stay!

The tavern is right at a most lovely college campus and easy walking distance to great shopping and fudge/icecream shops. And easy drIving distance to other shopping, history, Boone Trace hiking, etc. What's not to love.

Berea, KY is a beautiful small town, with friendly people, nice selection of restaurants, pretty downtown, and the lovely Berea College Campus. If you like hiking, which is what we did, The Pinnacles have great trails and the views are awe-inspiring, a true must see place! We ate Kentucky Fried Chicken, of course, The Cracker Barrel, and the nice down-home Dinner Bell Restaurant. There are several second-hand/antique shops which offered a lot of fun, relaxed shopping.

Not to sound cliche, but we truly liked everything about ouraccomodations, the city, and the surrounding countryside! It was our first visit to the srea and we weren't sure of what to expect. Our experience was truly excellent! The campus, Boone Tavern, adjacent shops, Old Town Shops and Railroad Station were our "haunts." We were able take relaxing walks and visit with artisans, and workers. People were friendly and made us feel welcome!

Berea is a very nice small appalachian town with a big personality! There are many artistic sights to see, as well as hiking and lots of nature. We were in town for only one night, for a wedding, so we will definitely have to come back soon!

I think Berea, KY is a great place to visit.
I think Berea, KY is a great place to visit. There are some outdoor adventures like hiking up The Pinnacles. In town there are so many shops with work done by students and local artisans. The Boone Tavern and Berea College campus have great architectural features.
There are some quaint eating estrablsihments also.
