We needed a place to stay for one night in BPK. Old Wooden Bridge was suggested by a friend. When I booked the stay, I don’t remember being asked if we wanted a cabin or to choose where we wanted to stay. Checking in was quite complicated as I had to sign multiple forms. When I checked in, I was told we would be staying on a houseboat which I thought would be different and cool. Far from it. The flooring had several places that were very soft and had black gaffer’s tape covering the spots that I assumed were holes in the floor. I fed our dog in his food bowl and he left a couple kibbles in the bowl and in the morning, there were dozens of tiny ants crawling around. There was a fridge, microwave, and TV. We didn’t use the shower so I can’t comment on that. It was obviously on the water and was chilly sitting outside on the little patio. Also, it was somewhat noisy when other (motor) boats drove by. The price was way too much for what we got.
If I were to stay here again, I would be sure to ask for a cabin.

Perfect little getaway to a gorgeous spot. This was our second stay there. First was when it initially opened just the two of us, and this last time was with our teenage kids. Love the two bedrooms and the at the kids had their own bed. More than that it the common areas were lush and beautiful and just perfect for a relaxing tropical respite

Great location right on the water and South facing so you get both sunrise and sunset views from the property. Very quiet location with Key Deer running through the property. Harry and Jen are fantastic hosts and provide breakfast and lunch if you need it. It was a great base camp for exploring the lower Keys, especially Key West.
Beautiful spot in the middle of the Keys. Relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of Key West but with enough things that you need such as some stores and restaurant. The Key Deer Refuge is great.

I forgot to mention the key deer that were all around.
I forgot to mention the key deer that were all around. It was always fun to see the, quite close to the houseboat. We were close enough to Key West, without the Key West prices. Oh and there's a good restaurant within walking distance, the No Name pub. Excellent pizza. Also go to see the Blue Hole, 10 minutes away.

Big Pine is a relative large, forested island which is not overly urbanized. It is the main habitat of the Key Deer. The Key Deer is a very small kind of deer which is perfectly adjusted to living in a small location. They are wondering around everywhere on the island including the highways. They are not afraid of people. You can drive around the island. I particularly enjoyed going to No Name Key which is connected by a bridge to Big Pine.
I recommend a pub-restaurant the "No Name Pub." Sea food is very fresh. The restaurant is unique in that the walls and ceiling are covered in dollar bills that people have attached to the wall since 1936. (Reportedly, 90,000 dollars)

Quiet and quaint with nice view of the gulf. Friendly owner. Clean spacious room. Environmental conscious. About 50 minutes from Key West. Bikes and kayaks provided. I would recommend for those seeking Keys experience without the noisy crowds. Delightful Key Deer abound.

Big Pne seems less commercialized as say Marrathon, Key West, Islandmadora or Key Largo. You can still find plenty of outdoor things to do but not a lot of things to see as far as touristy trap things like some of the other islands. I say that as a plus because we where there for the beautiful beach and relaxed atmosphere. The islands has a Key Deer reserve and the deer come thru at any time and greet you. They are very tame.

The room was great. It had an excellent ocean view.
The room was great. It had an excellent ocean view. The location was beautiful. The key deer were wonderful. Bicycles and kayaks were free and available. Swimming is a little difficult in that you have to walk over coral to get to deep enough water to swim. We did not like the vegan breakfasts, but then we are not vegans. The No Name Pub nearby has great food.

Upon arrival, we were told that some of the trailers were undergoing refurbishment so we were offered a 20% discount as they had not been able to call us on an international phone number. However, our trailer was fine. It was surprisingly spacious and had lots of storage options. Big Pine Key has a supermarket, Walgreens and several food restaurants. Swimming off the pier and watching the sunrise was my favourite.
This was our first stay here and it was a B and B...I will never go back to a hotel...This was such a beautiful place...The staff was amazing and you have a chance to meet new people at breakfast when you all sit down off the patio area....It was an excellent overall experience ...Will be booking with them again very soon...
There is no breakfast provided. There is, however, a nice little breakfast place on property for a fee. Good service and prices in the restaurant. This hotel is maybe trying to recover from Irma and be something? Front desk people were very nice--positive and upbeat...
Great service, rooms very nice and comfortable (the beds are really good!)
The location is perfect (we visited Key west during the day and back to Big Pine Key in the evening).
Moreover they have a Cafe where you can have a nice breakfast and coffee
