Catskill is a town, which we didn't visit this time, but it is also the Mountains. We used to live in the area for the summers from 1985 - 95, so we know it well. We visited the site of the old Catskill Mountain House, and also the Kaaterskill Falls Observation deck, which was wonderful on this beutiful spring day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and smelled fresh. It was a great price, but this is a no frills kind of place. Everything including beds, pillows, linens, fixtures and appliances are dated. It was warm enough evrn in very cold weather. We did not see any staff but they were quick to ensure the parking lot was plowed and sanded after a bit snowfall.
