Everything was nice. It was a bit confusing to locate the office, and we had to park in the lot across the street. The front desk clerk was very nice and walked me to our room. The croissants she delivered were a very nice surprise. I would recommend this place.

My spouse and I wanted to chill out in a quiet location and that is exactly what we got. The host was exceptional! We accidently locked ourselves out of the camper and he was there immediately to help us out! The location is rustic and the camper a little old, but very clean. Steps into the camper are not for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Everything we needed (towels, linens, paper supplies) was there! Recommend for a quiet time to sit by a fire, with lots to do in the area (manatee tour, fishing, explore, ect.)
Featuring a garden, House of Shells, beautiful garden, fenced yard, dog friendly, fire pit! offers accommodations in Crystal River.

I arrived at 9pm to the house to find a car in the driveway and a family inside. The house was dirty and not available. I spoke to the host asking her for a full refund and to cancel the reservation. My party then hd to scramble to find lodging for the next two days. I still have not received my refund.

The location was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the screen porch and comfortable chairs. The property was a little hard to get to, but it was well worth it.

Two days in good weather is pleanty of time in Crystal River. Three Sisters Springs and Homosassa Springs are the only real highlights. The weather was perfect for manatee viewing and we saw at least fifty in Three Sisters and about a dozen at Homosassa. At both places the water is so clear you get a great view. "Downtown" Crystal River is ver small with a few touristy shops. We ate at Amy's on the Avenue on a quiet patio; the food was very good.
We saw many people swimming "with" manatees but they are crodoned off and unless a manatee happened to swim near, they weren't actually close. We preferred seeing them from shore and they were within a few feet.

Comfortable temperatures for first week of February!
Comfortable temperatures for first week of February! Cool nights, greatly warmer days! Vibe is very easy going. Plenty of restaurants-had lunch at a very nice Italian Deli-Cappo's and another day lunch at Cody's-around for many years!. Stayed at Professor Rousseau's on the lake! Gulf Beach was closed while they were correcting it from the past hurricanes and surge. But, there is a great seafood lunch venue on the road to the beach that was closed Monday and Tuesday...great view of water and Pelicans there!

As recommended by the tour guides, make sure on visiting mid-Jan/late-Feb to ensure a great experience swimming and snorkeling while manatees are around, with the possible activities, I would say a 3-night stay would be great. Getting around the facilities is easy, nearby restaurants are good. Favorite spot definitely the pool, big enough to not feel crowded and with plenty of tables and chairs for everyone. Have fun.

I learned so much about the manatees while I was there and was able to swim with them! Truly an unforgettable experience. Homosassa Wildlife State Park was beautiful and what they are doing for the animals is wonderful. Pictures don't even do it justice! And the people in the area were just so kind :) Also, soooo many waterfront restaurants to choose from that were not expensive but had good quality food and no wait times. I was shocked, especially seeing that it was a holiday weekend!

We had heard about the large number of manatees in Crystal...
We had heard about the large number of manatees in Crystal River and came with high expectations, only to discover that spotting these gentle creatures was not easy. On the first day, we booked an afternoon tour and spent two hours searching for manatees until we finally found a mother and her calf in one of the city canals. Unfortunately, the water conditions were not ideal—it was cloudy and contaminated with landscaping grass clippings. To make matters worse, a heavy rainstorm hit just as we arrived, cutting our excursion short.
Determined not to give up after traveling such a long distance, we booked another tour. However, the second attempt was no more successful. Despite searching for three hours, the captain couldn't find any manatees until we returned to the same spot as the previous day. Just as we located one, it was time to head back. Apparently, the captain had a schedule to keep.
While we did manage to see the manatees briefly, I cannot recommend this activity. The experience felt rushed and the captain and guide were clearly frustrated. Although we understand that these are wild animals and sightings can't be guaranteed, it seems that their numbers are dwindling, making the promise of swimming with them increasingly rare.

The only plus of this hotel was the front desk lady was extremly nice and helpful. Other than that, baaad. When we opened the door a strong stench of humidity and mold hit us right there and then. They ceiling was about to fall down. Toilet is leaking, we had to stop water to it otherwise it’d keep refilling whole night. Booking as well said good breakfast. That means coffee or a small bottle of orangade and one chewy sweet bun. I absolutely dont recomend staying here. It’s not a good value for your money.
Exceptionally well planned accommodation with tremendous facilities as described. Well sited with many Crystal River facilities just around 10 minutes away e.g. manatees, boat trips, traditional breakfast diner, Publiks (for stocking up). The weather wasn't ideal, so we found the games room ideal (useful ping pong kit) and the Roku TV meant that apps could be easily accessed. Parking in the drive also very helpful. While we were a small group there would certainly be room for many more..a real bargain.
Great location close to the key areas of Crystal River. Very well equipped unit, with everything that you might need. Lots of extras provided like coffee pods and toiletries, that were more than expected. Some restaurants were within walking distance, which was a bonus.
