The photos on Booking.com do the place no justice. I've attached photos that give an accurate view of my room (Standard King Room).
I had a very comfortable bed in a room with a serene environment. Everything was working -- power outlets, USB charging ports, clean shower with efficient hot water flow, electronic door lock, free coffee, efficient room heating etc. (Small thing, but I do wish there were more orange lights in my room)
The entire compound had such a lovely, rustic, tranquil atmosphere. I spent the morning just listening to birds chirping and had a meditative experience. I did not get to use the pool but I believe it is heated in winter and had a glimpse of it -- looked simple and nice. They also have a games room I didn't get to visit.
Check-in was easy - Chris attended to me and was patient, friendly and warm. Check-out was also breezy, receptionist (unfortunately I didnt get her name) was warm and helpful too.
The recent rockslide also led to me having to seek support from yosemiteresorts.com. Jessie attended to me and was also very helpful and efficient, giving me the assurance I needed.
2 downsides - price is very high for a solo traveler (270usd, booked about a month in advance). the time I booked, other places were booked out so I just took this one. If you are not in a rush, there are properties that avail at much lower prices for stays within the next few days.
That said, after actually visiting Yosemite, I realised Curry Village and Yosemite *Valley* Lodge were quite crowded, lots of cars and footfall. I then came into deeper appreciation of the peaceful atmosphere at Cedar.
The other thing is, further down the road, I believe also property owned by yosemiteresorts.com, is a hotel called Yosemite *View* Lodge. Some rooms there are next to the beautiful Merced River, and like Cedar Lodge, it is also a stop along the YARTS bus route (the public transport that you can take to enter/exit Yosemite National Park).
Yosemite Gatekeeper's Lodge is located in El Portal just 10-minutes’ drive from Yosemite National Park. Mountain and river views are offered in this self-catering holiday home.

This is the best place we had during our California trip.
we had plenty of room for 6 peoples with individual bathroom.

What a fabulous base for a stay in Yosemite - it is RIGHT in the heart of the National Park, very quiet and on 30 mins drive to Yosemite Village.
The Apartment was lovely, very clean, everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable in every room! We had a fully fitted kitchen to prepare our braekfast in and a fantastic balcony to enjoy sitting outside on, and TV and pool table to keep yourselves amused!
We really couldn't have found anywhere better.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Boulder Ridge is set in Yosemite West. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi.
We didn't travel to visit El Portal which is pretty sparse.
We didn't travel to visit El Portal which is pretty sparse. Its proximity to Yosemite is the reason we visit. There is a service station which is strategically located and also a fairly good coffee shop (dog friendly).

The place had Tesla fast charging stations.
The place had Tesla fast charging stations. The property was old but clean. The carpet could use a deep clean. The room had a balcony with a table and some chairs great for drinking with friends or just hang out and relax while looking out the river.
The room was really big and spacious with a ref, stove top, coffee maker and some cooking and serving utensils.
Actually the property was decent but with no cellular coverage (Tmobile), wifi should have been readily available. Here you have to pay through a 3rd party. Sad! So it’s not great for virtual meetings and stuff.

The location and staff were excellent!!
The location and staff were excellent!! The room was clean, the amenities were great as well, the only problem was our TV. Maintenance couldn’t fix it so they gave us the internet for the TV the first night to remedy the situation which was amazing but not the second night which put a damper on things with no Tv to relax the second night.

The hotel location was good and near to Yosemite.
The hotel location was good and near to Yosemite. The room was good. The Pizza restaurant was good.
We didn't like having to book room service (towels etc and coffee for room) on a daily basis. In our opinion is a throwback to Covid pandemic days, as a management policy to save money not support the customer.

Close to Yosemite park entrance, just a short drive.
Close to Yosemite park entrance, just a short drive. Mildly wild river behind the hotel is great. We ate mostly in Yosemite park (very nice dinner at Yosemite Valley Lodge Mountain Dining Room and a great lunch at Ahwahnee hotel bar).

The location is superb as it is the closest hotel outside of Yosemite. It is only a short drive to enter the park. The rooms were airconditioned, the beds comfortable and there was good TV reception. There were a number of swimming pools which came in very handy as it was very hot while we were there. There is a restaurant and pizza bar on the site. There is also a small convenience store. We had a room overlooking a running stream with outdoor setting so it was really nice.
Close to the Yosemite National Park. It’s about 20 mins drive to the entrance. It has a pool and a game room which are good for kids. it also has a gift shop + grocery store which opens till late at night. It’s very convenient if you came back in the evening and wanted to do some shopping.
Location an easy drive to Yosemite National Park. Facilities were good for self-catering - we brought our food with us. There is a nice walk along the river from the property.
