Floyd is a very rural small town (with only one traffic signal) so depending on what day it is alot of the stores, restaurants, etc might either close early or be completely closed on certain days especially on holidays. However there is enough interesting attractions in the area such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd General Store, and the Chateau Morrisette winery to make visiting here worthwhile.

A great little town with many shops, just do not look for fancy/expensive stuff. There is a nice antique store (Finders Keepers), lots of musical offerings (mainly on weekends), but not a lot of restaurants. The places that were available covered the range of most foods and were good.

A small town with friendly people at the stores I shopped at. There was one store that did not have friendly service. Not sure if Floyd is considered a tourist place, but prices are a bit high. The Red Rooster coffee shop was high priced. Restaurants have good food.
