Jerome – 2 hotels and places to stay

Located in Jerome and within 25 miles of Cliff Castle Casino, The Clinkscale has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. Some rooms at the property feature a patio with a city view.

This old west style hotel above the great bar and restaurant delivers on the feeling of old times. Nicely remodeled, small room. The bedding and bathroom are luxurious and modern. The main floor restaurant is delicious, yet pricey. The view is as good as any of the few other places in town. The fun, walkable small town has good restaurants, bars and shops. I thought the prices in the shops were low.

Located in Cottonwood, 18 miles from Cliff Castle Casino, The Tavern Hotel has accommodations with a fitness center, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

We arrived and the only red flag we had was when we checked in. The lady was not as friendly as I would have expected and she made a comment about renting by a third party. Other than that, I felt the stay was amazing. The expectations were above and beyond. The hotel included every amenity possible and I look forward to staying next year.

Located within 17 miles of Cliff Castle Casino and 19 miles of Montezuma Castle National Monument, Little Daisy Motel has rooms in Cottonwood.

The property was spotless, as was the room. It was very spacious. Really appreciated a bathtub! And I appreciated most of all the peace and quiet. Everything one might need was less than a mile away (grocery, pharmacy etc.) and Old Town was just as close in the opposite direction.

Vintage mining town between Sedona and Prescott, AZ.

Vintage mining town between Sedona and Prescott, AZ. Wonderful galleries, wines, bars, restaurants. The town is crowded in the summers so arrive early for limited parking. If possible, stay overnight at The Clinkscale or Hotel Connor. The Clinkscale has an excellent restaurant & bar. The Hotel Connor has a bar (Spirits Room) with live music.

If you like historic towns with lots of history this is a great place to visit. The town goes to bed pretty early so don't plan on partying all night at the clubs because they don't have em, just a couple of bars. I highly recommend taking a ghost tour or two to learn more about the town's history and such. It's a slightly upscale type of town so it's expensive but well worth it. Learn some about Jerome's history before you go and you will appreciate it so much more. Oh ya, the parking really sucks since the town was built before cars were invented so you are warned.

After a disappointing (short) trip to Sedona we were delighted with Jerome. This small, historic mining town was a welcome relief from an overcrowded tourist trap. Jerome is easily walkable and has several very nice restaurants and shops. If a slower pace with old buildings (sometimes shells of buildings) is your idea of great place to visit, then Jerome is your town. We had an early delightful dinner at Clinkscale and some wonderful ice cream at Copper Country Fudge. Be aware that parking is difficult at times and most of the street parking is paid parking. Also, be aware that Jerome is on the side of a mountain and ALL of the streets are "uphill" - easy to get around but not a flat piece of property anywhere.

Jerome is a hillside old mining town with lots of history. Not meant for the clean and pristine. Meant for the adventurous and mining history buffs of the old mining towns in Arizona. We go back every year for a two night stay.
