Germanyvery friendly helpful staff! vegetarian meals are excellent! cosy bedroom. slept like a baby. everything very clean. nice bathroom. good breakfast. wonderful view. as this is a meditation and spa resort you have a lot of options to enhance your stay. I shall come back soon.

United KingdomThe property is incredible. The design of the building and the interior is very well thought out and planned. The views are heavenly, the hot tub wonderful. I love the rustic wood style tub. The children loved walking the land and exploring. The area is safe, quiet and peaceful. The record player was a a nice touch and was lovely listening to some good music at the property. Beds were comfortable and linens great.

We loved staying at the Gold Rush Hotel. We actually got free breakfast every morning at this hotel. The other restaurants are really good too. Weather was cold, but we made the best of it. Julian is Julian, always has been a tourist trap and forever will be , as far as food in town it was high-priced and mediocre at best for what you get, And the Pies, well ok but not so good that a 8-inch pie should cost 20 bucks, and slices almost 8 bucks for a small wedge of a pie , any of the Julian Pie shops have the same Pies, and same prices , they are making 64 bucks out of one 8 inch pie so you know about how big the slices are , if you want good food that is not pricey , go to San Diego to Old Town , food is great there , food is good and reasonably pricedGuest review byJungleBearUnited States - Review score10.0

Julian is a easy drive from San Diego.
Julian is a easy drive from San Diego. It is a nice, clean little mountain town. It has many shops with unique goods that you don't see many places. The one serious drawback is that there is only one go to sit-down restaurant. It is Italian. One major drawback is they do not accept reservations. However they do have a system using a Qcode in which you can be notified when your table will be ready in a specified time frame. Our wait was only about 1/2 hr notice of when our table for 6 was ready. Just don't sit by the front door. The cold wind is not pleasant each time the door opened. Julian is a super cute town.
Julian is a super cute town. There's a lot to do there in town. There are some great options that are no more than 3 miles away from the actual town of Julian and these establishments have co-opted the Julian town name for their locations. In the fall (September) they have an Apple Days Festival which is probably the highlight for the town. It's very crowded and lots of family friendly activities going on. Julian is a sweet little town packed with history. We had spent the day in Borego Springs looking at the desert sculptures (worth the trip) and enjoyed the mountain pass drive into Julian. Ample parking was also a plus. Ideal for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. We liked the fresh fruit, yogurt, "overnight oatmeal" and baked goods. Coffees and tea were great and available anytime of the day (or night probably) that you might want to enjoy. Breakfast area had many books to look at; the views over the lake and mountain area were lovely.
