Juneau has stunning scenery as expected.
Try to visit during the Cruise Ship season but try not to visit Downtown when multiple ships are in port as the attractions are all booked up.
Hiring a car is recommended to get around and see the site.

The glacier and the nature trails around the mountains were very nice. There were many nice restaurants, however they were fairly pricey. Also, the downtown area had lots of shops but most of them sold similar things. Overall the area is very scenic and it was easy to walk around.

Juneau is a very unique place not only because of the Gold rush history, but because it's also the state capitol, so there's a lot to see and do!
There's hiking, biking, kayaking, whale watching, a tram that takes you up Mt. Roberts, city tours and MENDENHALL Glacier!! SPECTACULAR! Both sea plane and helicopters going to the top.
Juneau is a seafood lovers dream!! Fresh king crab, halibut, you name it... Yum!
The city is clean and mostly flat. The sidewalks are even and easy to walk on. The air is fresh and the people are nice. There were 5 cruise ships docked in the harbor!
I can't wait to go back!

Juneau is a beautiful town/city with culture from the Native Alaskans, Hiking trails, whale tours, glaciers, and more bald eagles around that you can imagine. The weather may be cloudy but the locals are welcoming and sunny.

I enjoy going to Juneau. I'm a sucker for souvenir shops.
I enjoy going to Juneau. I'm a sucker for souvenir shops. I just love them. My husband doesn't get it but I just have to go in them! I have never spent more than 2 nights in Juneau,, waiting for the ferry. The Glacier is nice. I haven't really done much in Juneau other than shopping and the Glacier.

I booked this hotel as a one-night stop over because it was near the airport, and though I arrived very late, the shuttle was waiting for me. It hotel was expensive but it was also peak season. I hired a taxi to take me the four miles to the glacier the next morning since I had some spare time before my plane departed. That was a very worthwhile trip. Got in a great hike and took some beautiful photos.

The group breakfast was an added bonus, We had great conversations around the breakfast table while enjoying the delicious food.
Lovely touches were wine, snacks, coffee and tea always available.
The lounge area was great to relax and chat to other guests.
Location of the Ramada. We were within walking distance of downtown Juneau. There was a grocery store nearby. There was a good restaurant adjacent to the hotel. There were several restaurants nearby. The hotel and room were clean.
This hotel is right across the road from the terminal at Juneau Airport. I stayed overnight on the way from Anchorage to Seattle and it was only about a three-minute walk. The room was comfortable and very clean.
Teresa is an absolute treasure. Very welcoming and very kind and helpful. She is a great asset to Alaska Hotel and Bar.
Thanks Teresa.
Old place with character. Very central and comfortable bed.
