I am primarily a Colorado skier.

I am primarily a Colorado skier. I enjoyed Killington and it is within 6 hours so I will be back. Lift tickets are only sold on-line. The pickup process is simple and fast but the ticket areas are not visible from the road. Take it on faith that there are ticket dispensers servicing every large parking lot. The abundance of ticketing locations eliminates long lines early in the morning. The resort is typical of eastern skiing. The mountains are lower (4k vs 12k) so the runs are shorter which impacts the ski vs lift time. The areas are narrower and tend more toward cat tracks than open vistas. Tunnels provide a method for one trail to cross under another and skiers don't need to worry about cross traffic. Ice can form at the tunnel exit so be mindful. Snow conditions were good the first day and, due to overnight snow that returned in late morning, we had fresh powder to deep powder on the second day. There was occasional ice but in general conditions were good to very good. In the secluded open areas among the trees the snow was knee to waist deep and very loose. I skied on Monday and Tuesday and there were few people on the mountain. The trails were uncrowded and most lifts were ski up and get on. Even popular lifts like the gondola covered chair (chute lift) had two to four groups in line at any given time. I expect the weekends and holidays are more difficult. I was there for 2 days and would have stayed longer but temps went from the 20-30 range to the -2 to +10 range. Wind in both cases. Due to a medical issue I get cold easily and therefore don't ski in really cold conditions.

A quick review of Killington... well I am a skier, so this...

A quick review of Killington... well I am a skier, so this applies to winter sports. Killington is called the beast for a reason, it a huge mnt. Also, the snow making is world class. When other Mountains are struggling, Killington almost always has better snow coverage, many lifts diversified terrain, modern base lodges. Well maintained lifts. 2 gondolas, heading to Vermont? Can't go wrong with this place! After ski dining? So many resturants as you leave the slopes, The wobble barn for a steak to choices for eclectic upscale fare. The garlic for Italian. To many places to list all here, pro tip... late season this place still rocks!

Killington ski resort is a first class mountain!

Killington ski resort is a first class mountain! They are the most proficient machine snow makers! Often, Killington has snow when others don't. Multiple base lodges, I count 5, like 5 peaks, a gazillion lifts, and more trails than I can count. But they do have a separate beginner hill among the colossal mountain. And that is very cool, its called snowshed, even packs its own base lodge. The mountain is also a. Lend of easy crazing runs to omg double black diamonds. And with a plethora of resturants on the way in, your day doesn't end when the lifts stop.

I've been skiing Killington since I was kid.

I've been skiing Killington since I was kid. It's my favorite mountain in the northeast - the Beast for a reason. So many trails for all types of skiing, great lifts & gondolas, great lodges, helpful staff, multiple peaks, an overall great mountain.

During ski season, this is one of the best on the East Coast. But Killington is a year-round vacation place for my wife and I. Off-season is exceptional too. The countryside is fantastic and the hiking is endless. We love it there.

The condo is amazing! The location with a direct view on the ski resort is awesome. I would give it a 11. Everything that you might need is available in the apartment. Tanya supported us with all relevant information for check-in, stay and checkout- no questions open. The Fitness Center is fully equipped. The pool area might be a little crowded in the evening… but I guess that’s something you can expect when the lifts are closing…
