Wonderful for a young family but with entertainment and food for all ages. From pubs to fine dining, pizzerias to continental, burgers to steaks this town has it all. We especially enjoyed visiting the bank cafe on Main Street for a relaxed, chef prepared yet no-nonsense and graciously friendly breakfast. And hotel acommodations are from good to sumptuous, with pricing options to suit all wallets. The town also offers a great selectionn of brand outlet shops for clothing and sports. It's a resort boasting a finely staffed library and a record for having the longest acting mayor in u.s. history! A charming place to visit as we have for many years with our children and grands.

I never really gave Lake George a chance before because I always felt it was too touristy. So we decided this time we would really explore it and take some extra time there. I’m so glad we did! Yes there are quite a few places that cater to the tourist element, but also many cute treasures, excellent restaurants, and gorgeous views. Lots of hiking options and outdoor activities, as well as specialty shopping and artisans. We loved walking around the town and local parks. Lots to do for everyone!

We went in the Fall, and the scenery was spectacular. Must dos are to take a boat cruise (2-hr tour was perfect) and drive up Prospect Mountain for the overlooks then hike up that last part to a spectacular grand finale overlook. Good bar food at 163 Tap Room. We stayed at Fort William Henry and it was a superb location!

This was a quick pit stop for us to break a journey back up to Toronto from Boston but we wished we’d booked a couple of days.
Definitely would go back if we were in the area again to explore. Stunning views.

October is off season for Lake George so some of the stores/restaurants are closed down or have short hours. Still a great area for outdoor activities and scenic drives. We were lucky and the weather was fantastic for early October.

Our 2 bed studio was clean and we used the stove fridge and freezer and shower during our stay. Lots of fresh towels and facecloths were provided. The best part was the view of Lake George and the pool from the rooms outdoor catwalk/balcony! We took the trolley into town then walked home 1 mile.
This hotel is about 10 to 15 minutes to the stores, and about 20 minutes to the beach area. Nice area for a walk even at night. The city bus from the beach area took us to the hotel (corner street) It was raining that day. It was a big help since we left our car in the hotel parking lot.
Nice pool and fire pit which we sat around one evening. Good location easy walking distance (10 minutes) from the town of Lake George, just far enough away to feel a bit more peaceful.
