A Millionaire's playground, Miami Beach is all about sun, sea and sand. Popular as a spring break destination, its miles of pristine sands shelve gently into the turquoise Atlantic Ocean.
Lining the beach are tall palm trees and the promenade, famous for the beautiful people that go rollerblading by. Add to this a warm, subtropical climate and you can see why many celebrities have chosen to set up home in Miami Beach.
You might even spot some of them shopping in the designer boutiques along Lincoln Road. And if your budget doesn’t quite stretch that far, there’s still a great range of shops with more moderate prices, including Aventura Mall and CocoWalk.
The city also has its fair share of culture, including the Art Deco District, which houses the world’s largest collection of Art Deco architecture, including some of the brightly-lit Miami Beach hotels on Ocean Drive.
Comprising a series of islands just across Biscayne Bay from Miami (the route you take from Miami Airport), this city has a heavy Latin American influence, which is evident in the cuisine and fantastic nightlife. Miami Beach is beautiful of course it gets more expensive as you get into South Beach. The free trolly is OK except it makes a lot of stops and if it's full, it won't stop for you and it's a 20 minute wait for the next one so plan using Uber.

We stayed in South Beach for three nights prior to boarding a cruise out of Miami, We stayed at the Breakwater hotel and really enjoyed it...especially the floor show a the Havana 1957 club. Parading up and down Ocean Drive and the beach walk was fun but we really enjoyed the more local flavor of restaurants on Washington Ave.
We went into Miami to visit the Wynwood walls area and really enjoyed that but be prepared for major traffic anytime but especially around rush hour. We also did a boat tour of Star Island and enjoyed that...it was a good bang for the buck.
Next time we cruise out of Miami we will stay again in Miami Beach or South Beach!

The beach was relaxing with plenty of sunshine and beautiful views.
At times it did get rather crowded.
The beach attendant was super nice and approached all guest to see if they wanted assistance with setting up chairs and umbrellas.
The shore, where the water meets the sand, was rather dirty with a lot of loose plants and algae swimming up and pricking at people. The rest of the beach, sand area, was very clean.

I was looking for a winter break - wanted warm weather and an easy nonstop flight. Miami fit my requirements. We had great weather - all sun and 78 every day in early February. Citibike bikes are all over the area making it easy and fun to hop on a bike. Free trolleys available and easy cheap express bus shuttle to the airport made it easy to not have a rental car. Bummed that the beach is basically unwalkable as the sand is deep and the slanted pretty steep at the water's edge. Nice walking/biking path along the beach that runs from South the North Beach made up for it. Lots of great places to eat and wander around. All in all, a good getaway!

I went at the end of February, and the temperature was good, for me from Spain, but high, and I wouldn't want to be there in the summer.
The beach is gorgeous; the sand is white not very fine, so it doesn't heat up (great) and it sticks less (great). The sea deepens very slowly, there in Mid Beach, which is - again - great for families.

The beach was very overcrowded in the area in front of the hotel, food was disregarded on the beach by visitors which caused issues with the local birds lots of noise and mayhem a very unpleasant atmosphere for those of us trying to relax on the beach overall very disappointing stay and I would not recommend this area of Miami Beach

Location of the hotel is right in the middle of South Beach, with most local attractions within walking distance. The elegance and style of the hotel made our stay more special. The elevator was an experience, love that it has been preserved how it is. Room was nice, bed was super big and comfy. The two deck chairs that come with the booking on the beach was used most days! Staff was amazing throughout our stay.
Fantastic location on Ocean Drive opposite Lummus Park. Free beach chairs & towels and bikes at reception. Very helpful staff. Surprisingly nice meal at Havana 1957 restaurant in hotel, with live music nightly. Very good value for this location in South Beach.
this is a iconic hotel - perfectly located on ocean drive where all the fun happens. if you stay in this hotel you got the full experience. lovely restaurant as well. and super to take breakfast and see the south beach world pass by
Miami Beach hotels have become ridiculously expensive for what they offer. This one is located in nice area away from the silliness and craziness of South Beach and easily accessible by shuttle bus to central MB.
