Set in Midpines, 42 km from Yosemite Arch Rock Entrance, AutoCamp Yosemite offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a terrace.

We had a luxury tent and loved it! Very modern and all amenities needed in the tent; towels, fridge, air conditioning, heater, mattress heaters, coffee maker, etc. It was a cold night so the mattress heaters were so nice! The facilities in the overall building are fantastic; clean toilets/showers, little store, little restaurant and they offer granola and coffee/tea in the morning. Definitely going to recommend this one to friends.

Nestled on a hillside in a forest, this mountain resort features an on-site restaurant and a spa. Yosemite Valley is 43 km away.

We were sleeping in one of the tents, so the accommodations was pretty basic. The bathrooms are very clean and the showers warm, but they are open to airflow so it can get kind of cold. They have a very sweet cafe that offers good breakfast.

Set in Mariposa, California region, Mariposa Hotel Inn is located 48 km from Yosemite South Entrance.

Breakfast was fine, if a little basic. It was a lovely old property with bags of character, the sort of place you take a photo to remind yourself. Lively bar next door, and plenty of eating options. Ample on street parking.

Located in historic Mariposa just 70 km from the west entrance to Yosemite National Park, this motel offers free Wi-Fi. All uniquely-decorated guest rooms offer mountain views.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the room. It was very dirty. Dust everywhere, dirty tables, dirty windowsills. I wiped the dust myself. There was someone's hair on the towels. The only thing that made me happy was that the bed was clean.

Papillon Cellars - The Loft is situated in Mariposa and offers a garden and a terrace.

Leo and Kim were so very kind and generous and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable. It was my first visit to Yosemite and the information Leo provided me -- before I had arrived -- was extremely valuable.

Small town about an hour out of Yosemite.

Small town about an hour out of Yosemite. We didn't leave our cabin except to drive up to Yosemite so we didn't really experience the town. Hadn't taken this route into Yosemite before so was delighted to find the drive from Midpines into the valley to be really beautiful.

Midpines is a small town and you have to travel far to get into town for restaurants and gas. However, it is close to yosemite and there are lots of options for hotels. Autocamp just opened so that may bring more business to this little town. There is a brewery with very friendly staff called 1850. The food is fine and the beers are good but the staff is great. There is also Mariposa Coffee Co. the coffee is great and the owner has a lot of personality... The storefront itself is very fun and coffee themed. They also have great merch.

If you like to be out in nature.

If you like to be out in nature. Midpines is definatly a good place to go. Nearest small town was 7 miles away from where I stayed. So close but not too close. I stayed at the Bug Rustic Mountain Resort. If you are looking for a quiet but charming and nice place to stay, this is the place for you. But a couple things to be aware of. 1, if using google gps for directions. As you get close to your destination, it'll tell you to take Colorado road. Do not take that road! As the gps will end up taking you down a really bad dirt road. And it will not take you to the property! If taking California 140 west heading towards Yosemite. Once you see the turn for Colorado Rd. Just keep going straight for about a mile or so. You'll see the sign on the left for the resort. 2, parking for the resort is small. So as night comes and more people start arriving. If you leave and come back. You'll more than likely have to park at the very top parking lot. And while it is a realtively short walk back to the main area. It is a steep walk to return to your vehicle. So I'd suggest just staying put after around 7pm if you wish to retain your spot. But overall this place is great!

Just a bed in a tent that is like a homeless camp

Just a bed in a tent that is like a homeless camp There is no toilet, no sink, and to go to the toilet, you have to drive and go to the motel. Do you get paid for rent? If I knew it was like this, I would never go. The motel tells me to park in the car and go up the mountain when the end is up.

Great location to visit Yosemite, facilities are good and clean! It is great to have such a hostel around Yosemite, where you find mainly expensive hotels. It seems also well managed (at the first evening there was an issue with the aircon, which was quickly solved the next day).

The hotel room was nice. The rooms are little cabins in the woods which were very cosy. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was cheap and good.
