My stay was great The only issue I had was the air conditioner wouldn't turn off blowing cold air in the room all night. I did address the issue to the staff and they awarded me extra points or something like that and it gave me advice on how to fix the issue. Other than that this day was awesome.

Friendly Staff, Clean and safe location. Good breakfast. Was great for our 2 night stay. Will need a car, Uber, etc. to travel in the area unless you want to ride the bus that runs every hour. The area is pretty spread out and is really not walkable.

Hotels rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were not very comfortable but it wasn’t the worst either. The pool was freezing so we didn’t use that much. Wish there was a hot tub, that would be a great addition. Location was convenient. Breakfast was good. Overall was a good stay.

We have been to the Walkway on the Hudson before (it's tremendous), but we did not visit the city. We made the mistake of doing that this time. Seemingly all of the people we passed were not doing well. They looked like they had issues. When you look at the promo for the city, it looks quaint and with a positive vibe. There are many places listed such as Grand Hotel, Poughkeepsie Grind, etc... but if you walk to get to them, you are going to encounter people that you might want to have your guard up on. They sure brought me down. I was thinking, "I'm on vacation". This is a drag. I could see this at home (Philadelphia). Maybe this town is on the rise, but it hasn't risen high enough for a visit as of yet. BTW, we drove 30 miles from the hotel to get. We went to New Paltz and went to Huckleberry's. It was great.

If you ever get to Poughkeepsie, be sure to go on the walking bridge across the Hudson. It is worth getting TO Poughkeepsie to enjoy. What a great town. (I was there to see Marist and Vassar Colleges, both of which are worth visiting to see.) Best restaurant? "The Academy." Do not miss it.

Check first to see if Culinary Institute of America (CIA) has restaurants that are open. They are closed for summer break, and may be closed for portions of the Christmas break (corresponds to the student year)
FDR house and Vanderbilt house are both National Parks properties, so if you have a Park Pass, there is no charge. Otherwise, the house tours are $10 per person--so worth it. To walk the properties is free--you will see walkers with their leashed dogs.
walkway across the Hudson is excellent for a walk/run/bike. Great views! Bring your water bottle.

The Poughkeepsie Grind is the absolute best coffee shop to go to. All train stations are pretty convenient to get to and there’s so many restaurants that are amazing to try, I haven’t found a place I didn’t like.

We were there for my daughter’s wedding at the Grandview!
We were there for my daughter’s wedding at the Grandview! What an excellent venue! All of our family came in and the Hotel was perfect for everyone! The outside area became our favorite place to hang out after dinner at The CIA, after our rehearsal dinner at the Mill House Brewery and even after the wedding! The staff was superb and the hotel was so amazing that we extended our stay! We just weren’t ready to say goodbye on Sunday morning! You cannot go wrong with choosing Homewood! They WILL EXCEDE YOUR EXPECTATIONS!

It's a cute little hotel that feels cozy and calm. It's right by one of the bigger road leading to Poughkeepsie, but it's still very quiet. Close to the town center (5min by car) and close to shopping strip (1-2min by car). The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Plenty of parking.
Comfortable hotel with a large room by the river. The breakfast bar was better than average for chain hotels, both quality of the food and the breakfast room was pleasant, with an outdoor terrace along the river.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable.
