Redding seems to have invested some $ and effort in revitalizing the downtown area. There was at least one other classic motel that had been updated and there were several restaurants within walking distance of the Americana Motel. Street parking was available (metered) and there were sidewalks available. the place can be hotter than other places i have been to in california. prices of things are a little expensive like other parts of california. the people in Redding seemed a little more friendly than other places. I went to Bethek church and the place was full of people who had come to worship their God.
