I was racially discriminated by the manager of this establishment. I have never been so humiliated in my entire life. Yes, I am a black male, I do not need to be reminded of that in a derogatory way, especially by the manager. She literally called me a fucking nigger and called the police on me saying, "I hope they throw your black ass in jail." When the police arrived on the scene, they came in 6 different cars. I was so scared for my life. I am already battling depression and I am a permanent and totally disabled Veteran. It's all on tape and I don't need to relive it by writing down how racist that manager was to me. The cops asked her what happened and she broke down crying as though she was a victim of a domestic dispute, when it was the other way around. The manager tried kicking me out and I still had one more night to stay there. The said out of their mouth that this is not the first time that they had to deal with that manager trying to kick out paid customers who did not break any of the hotel rules. Police told me to go back to my room or I could leave and press charges against that manager and I did that on Monday. I will never, ever go back to that hotel. I felt so bad for myself that I wanted to kill myself that day. I already hate being a black male living in this cruel world. I don't need to reminded that, especially in that tone from that manager.

This was our second stay at Haven on Hazel. But we stayed in a different apartment this time. A two bedroom. The location was perfect for our visit to the university. Will stay again.

I liked the space and the design. Parking was very easy. The property was clean and quiet with thoughtful amenities. We had a selection of coffee pods with a large Keurig coffee machine, plenty of towels and make up remover toiletries in the bathroom.
We were there for a show at the Ritz Theatre. It was great.

Toccoa is a nice historic town off the beaten path.
Toccoa is a nice historic town off the beaten path. Usually we stay in the Tallulah Gorge area but so glad we found this beautiful area. Loved Toccoa Falls, which was very easy to walk to, without a day hike, and the college campus grounds were beautifully maintained. Downtown was quaint and had an interesting history. They also have some fun street music celebrations on certain summer nights - we were only there one week day night so did not get to attend. We will be returning next year on our way to the mountains! We brought our own food - so didn't dine out. Went to the local Ingles grocery for wine 10 minute drive away.

Our 2nd trip to Toccoa.
Our 2nd trip to Toccoa. LOTS TO SEE & DO in the surrounding areas. We've done Tallulah Gorge , Currahee Military Museum, Currahee Winery, & Toccoa Falls, Paul Anderson Park ( world's strongest man ) just to name a few attractions. The town of Toccoa has an Amtrak train depot & a historic theater, that are really cool, and the streets are walker friendly. We stayed at the Simmons-Bond Inn B & B, 117 year old Victorian home. Comfortable, Welcoming, & Tanya & Dan serve a Scrumptious 3 course breakfast that will satisfy the heartiest of appetites. Toccoa is a small town that we'll visit again & again because we just love the area .
