Fine dining restaurant had excellent views and service. Very amenable. Casual restaurant ended service a little early for our needs, but they were experiencing extreme conditions and is understandable

Located within 12 miles of Kilauea and 24 miles of Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo in Volcano, Chalet Kilauea provides accommodations with free WiFi and seating area.

The location was conveniently located near the Volcanoes National Park. It was also close to in town restaurants. It was quiet and serene. The bathroom was extra large. It was easy to help oneself to additional towels, etc. as needed.

Two or three days seems the right amount of time for Volcano and it's obvious neighbouring attractions. The town itself seems a bit "tourist challenged" in that there are a very limited number of dining choices. Other than that, there is a weekly Farmers Market on Sunday mornings, a gas station, hardware store, a couple of general stores, a slew of BnBs...and that's about it. All the interest lies in the nearby Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and rightly so.

    I absolutely adorable volcano village.

I absolutely adorable volcano village. Unfortunately the small volcano general store has turned into a bistro called Thai Thai bistro which is extremely overpriced at $24-$30 a plate. We ordered the sweet sour stirfry and asked for pork but ended up with chicken because it was takeout, there was no way to send it back Other than the commercialization of the village. I would highly recommend visiting there and staying at least a week in an Airbnb.

Got lucky to book a room at Volcano House due to a last minute cancellation. View of erupting volcano was an extraordinary once in a lifetime experience. Room was clean and adequate, but that was irrelevant, we would have stayed in a tent for this! Restaurants were both surprisingly good!

Volcano is conveniently close to the national park , and Mauna kena, and far away from the touristic loud places . However access roads are tricky, you need a good car . And not too many options close by for groceries or place to eat.

Beautiful, large, landscaped yard--similar to a rainforest and close to Volcanoes National Park, Volcano House, Thurston Lava Tube, and Devastation Trail. There are places to eat nearby--Eagle's Lighthouse, Kilauea Military Camp, Ohelo Cafe or the Rim at the Volcano House. There are also many places to eat in Hilo town. Also in Hilo, another good place to visit is Panewa Zoo, for families with children.

The green, beautiful lush forest-like atmosphere in Volcano was so breathtaking! It was peaceful and quiet (except at night) you could hear the little frogs (koki frogs) nonstop but you eventually rest and they fade as you get closer to sleep. Even driving feels awesome!

Location was perfect, located down a quiet road within it's own gated garden. Lovely atmosphere. Listening to birds, frogs (invasive, I know, but fun to listen to). Only 3 miles from Volcano NP entrance. Super clean inside, well appointed kitchen, washer and drier, hot tub was fantastic after hiking. Host was fab, very communicative and provided any answers very quickly. Entry was straightforward. Bed was comfy, nice garden views. Loved sitting outside on lanai with breakfast / coffee / dinner

Other than the park lodge this was definitely the best place to stay in the Volcano National Park Area. The room was very clean, spacious and well furnished. and I imagine s were much nicer than the park lodge however the lodge had a bar and restaurant which seemed pretty lively. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant which was good but a little on the pricey side but still nice. Able to park right outside the building.

Location was convenient and close to the volcano but I recommend flying in to Hilo airport because Kona is 2 1/2 hrs away. I like the big rooms and the comfy king size bed. There is also a porch and chairs you can sit on outside. There was a kitchen you could cook in and a fridge you could store food. They had a list of close by restaurants with the numbers. Rooms were big and spacious. You get a code for the door.
