It was cold, but staying off late road made it easy to walk...
It was cold, but staying off late road made it easy to walk to certain locations and not far from Hy-Vee and Walmart. I ate at McDonald's, Taco John's, and Panda Express. I was in town for the Iowa State Pool Tournament at Sullivan center, a little diner like Carpenters serves a great breakfast at a good price, the owner or manager upgraded me to another room when there was Ice forming on the inside of the windows. Waterloo is home . We had a family reunion there so it's always good to come home and see friends and family. It's sad to see a lot of stores and businesses closed. Crossroads closed. Everything is in Cedar Falls. Build up the East side again.Guest review byAnonymous - Review score2.0

there was nothing about the Howard Johnson I would recommend. they called me the day of my stay and told me I didn't have a room. they then said they could change my 2 rooms to the honeymoon suite for a big discount since it was their mistake. got there and the onsite staff was nice and gave us a rate of $77.00 but now my card got charged $141.00. The people of Waterloo are kind and friendly. Everyone we passed said hello or gave a smile...definitely don't get much of that where we are from. Our hotel was literally in the middle of everything.
