The Historic Pig and Whistle Inn in Bathurst provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and a terrace.

We ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was good for both meals - not exceptional, but tasty and good portions. This is an historic building, and we stayed there because I am traveling with a descendant of one of the 1820 Settlers. The Inn has a lot of charm, but remember it is a ~200 year old building.

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a garden as well as a terrace, Mansfield Private Reserve is located in Port Alfred, within 7.9 miles of Royal Port Alfred Golf Club and 23 miles of Fish river Sun...

Nicole and Werner where wonderful hosts and all the staff were so helpul and friendly. I had some special requests that were fulfilled with a smile and on the same day. I extended my stay, because I had such a lovely time. The Impalas and Zebras come to say Good Morning right at your doorstep, the Nyala graze near the cottage and the Baby Giraffe is just cute. The walks in the reserve are amazing as you can get very close to the animals. For me this was a real authentic African holiday at a very reasonable price. I can highly recommend staying at Mansfield Private Reserve, having travelled in Africa for 20 years and stayed at a lot of hotels and some big 5 reserves I appreciated this experience very much.

Located on the Kowie River bank in Port Alfred. MyPond features an á la carte restaurant, offering South African cuisine with a contemporary twist. The restaurant overlooks the banks of the river.

What I write in the dislikes was canceled out by 2 things. The supper (steak with veg.) And the out side sitting facilities.

This stay was fantastic. Warm and friendly hosts. Drinks served in the garden next to the pool (a bar available if you prefer). Amazing food from Carla - daily menu from local produce was exceptional (booking essential). We loved it all so much we extended our stay by a night (which says it all). We ate at the property both nights. Local area was great fun to explore - Bathurst is small, quaint and quirky - we thoroughly enjoyed looking around, especially over a weekend. Would definitely recommend.

Perfectly located in the middle of town, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Very friendly staff and a beautifully aged room which stayed with the theme of this historic hotel. Great value for money, even when taking the premium suite.
