It was an unbelievable experience to lay in the pool and see elephants coming by to drink at the waterhole. The owners and guides have been exceptional - we felt like being part of the family and can only highly recommend this small and wonderful lodge in the Greater Kruger.

We had a great (unfortunately only 1 night) stay at Adonsonia Lodge. It’s a nice small place surrounded by nature. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional - the meat was mouth watering! We were visited by elephants, which was really surprising and came as a great welcome to Africa on our first night. If I’m ever in the area, I’d definitely choose this lodge again.

I had the most wonderful 3 night stay at iMbamuweti cottage! The cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with everything I could possibly need as I was self-catering. The location was perfect—peaceful, idyllic and wildlife walking literally outside the fence.
As hosts, Mike and Laura were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed. The attention to detail was evident throughout the cottage and I especially loved relaxing in the private garden next to the splash pool. The cottage was cleaned daily, and a fire made up for me outside each day.
Game drives were organised through the main lodge and I did two of these in the afternoons and had incredible sightings with very experienced and knowledgeable guides.
I will definitely return and stay for longer next time. I highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone looking to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the African bush.

The place is absolutely stunning and very tranquil, the staff are hands on and very attentive tinyiko, patience and another lady who cleaned our room were so welcoming and friendly. Janke our host was available at all times when we needed anything from her despite her not feeling well she went an extra mile to ensure our stay was great! Truly appreciate that.. It was my wifes birthday on the 15th of April and they really made sure that she enjoys it.
Facilities were great especially if you're looking for a relaxing experience this place is exactly that.

I would recommend to book this place.
- we saw: lioness with babies, giraffe, elephants (up close!), monkeys, hippos, kudu, impalas, many birds, snake and the team worked so hard to spot buffalo for us, and they succeeded! thank you again!
- very intimate, not a factory lodge. Loved the comfort it gives you. I think there is max 10ppl in the lodge
- almost brand new lodge, furnitures are in very good shapes, super clean and comfortable
- excellent Team made of very nice people, Lillian taking care of the facilities and guests is so friendly and always there for you. Aaron the spotter is INCREDIBLE, his eyes are amazing. Markus came late as the ranger but the 2 days we had with him was very educational. He takes the time to explain what is around and with Aaron make a great Team to spot your wished game! Marvellous duo. I hope the lodge management take good care of them!
We had another ranger in the beginning that was also very knowledgeable.
- location is prima, very calm, unless when the lions decide to make a show at night (but that’s pretty great) you can spot some hippos and impalas on the river
- tents are beautifully made but can get very very hot
- food was tasty
- no mosquitoes in December :)

I genuinely cannot rate the Abelana River Lodge highly enough. We spent a weekend there for our first ever family safari (two adults, one eight year old boy) and this lodge exceeded every expectation. The staff, the food, the location, everything was superb!
The location is incredible with the lodge and rooms nestled beside a river. We regularly saw elephants and monkeys as we sat for our meals. Note that the lodge is about a 1.5 hour drive from Hoedspruit Airport.
The decor is amazing. It does not jar with the surroundings but instead it complements the nature with the indoor-outdoor setting.
The food was ridiculously good. We felt like we were having Michelin star food for every meal. It really was that good. Compliments to the kitchen team!
Last but by no means least, we wanted to say a special thank you to our game ranger, Duncan. He made the entire trip so special. He brought us close (and safely) to the animals and you can tell that he really knows his stuff. Our twice daily safari trips with him were fantastic and he made it his mission to get us to see the animals. He fully succeeded in that mission and we are totally grateful! THANK YOU DUNCAN!!!
its a big 5. BUT because of so many private properties you can not game drive much of the reserve like other reserves and also within the reserve the owners of the lodges seem to not like each other that much. they gossip a lot about each other ( i did stay in different places in this reserve ) and i did not have this issue in other game reserves.

Dear Lengau Lodge Team,
Dear Lengau Lodge Team,
We would like to sincerely thank you for our three-day stay with you.
Loek and Ilse warmly welcomed us upon our arrival and patiently explained everything to us. On the same day, we went on an afternoon safari with Loek, which was simply wonderful. On the way to the lodge, we even encountered a group of elephants. Already on the first day, we were able to admire impalas, elephants, and lions. The location of the lodge directly in the Great Kruger Park is simply phenomenal. In the evenings, we could hear the roar of the lions, and the soundscape was truly unique.
The lodge itself was very clean and tastefully decorated. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, from which you have a direct view of the bush and can observe animals. This was a wonderful opportunity to experience nature and wildlife up close.
Loek was an extremely friendly safari guide and had extensive knowledge. We also had the pleasure of booking the gin tasting, which we can definitely recommend. It was evident that Luug and Ilse were very committed to providing their guests with a pleasant stay.
However, we would also like to honestly share our experience that we felt unable to express every wish, as we were afraid of asking for too much. In our opinion, the food was not always sufficient, and instead of a breakfast buffet, there was a pre-set breakfast menu. We would have liked to be treated more individually as guests and to have felt that our wishes were positively received.
Nevertheless, we would like to emphasize that overall we were satisfied with our stay at Lengau Lodge and would gladly recommend it. The warmth and efforts of Loek and Ilse impressed us, and the location of the lodge in the Great Kruger Park is simply unbeatable. We are glad to have chosen this lodge.
Thank you once again for your hospitality.
Kind regards,
Dimitri&Rabia

The chalet I had was very clean and comfortable. The food was good and well presented. I particularly appreciated the french press coffee and cheese selection at breakfast.
The manager, Christina, went above and beyond to address any concern. I forgot my phone charger and she arranged to have an employee buy me a replacement.
