Howick – great hotels and places to stay

Set in the heart of the Midlands, Halliwell Country Inn is located 14 km from Howick and 5km from Curry’s Post. This historic property is over 180 years old.

Location is breathtaking, even in the most and the rain. Potholes are no fault of the property. Property is rustic and unique

Keen to visit town where the mayor and his staff have made such a difference. A joy to see evidence of thriving businesses, clean environs - and where things seem to work. The Howick Falls and the Mandela Capture site - not to be missed

A lovely peacefull, clean and neat town in nestled amidst the Midlands Meander. A variety of shops, supermarkets and medical facilities. The town and its residents are friendly and we felt very safe during our stay and travelling around. Good food and good service.

We havn't been in the area for about 2 years and the town and surrounds have been very well upgraded. The town is so clean. We visited the falls - very safe and clean again. Also the museum - we will go back as we only had 20 minutes and could have spent longer there! Also had a lovely breakfast at one of the many really lovely spots in the town - Will be back!

Bierfassl for meals, especially their Eisbein.

Bierfassl for meals, especially their Eisbein. Piggly Wiggly for a wide variety of goods. Chocolate haven. Lakeview Cottage for the best ever accommodation. There are just too many to mention. Culamoya Chimes is just such a pleasure to visit. I always bring at least 1 chime home.

It is a small town but has all the shops and restaurants that one might need for a 2 or 3 day stay. It is a good jumping off point to go into the gorgeous midlands to explore markets and national points of historical interest.

Howick and surroundings nice and clean, lots to see in neighbourhod of Howick eg. Midlands meander. Howick falls a disappointment, not clean, too many vendors, too many people using river as a washing bay.....Karkloof falls beautifully clean and unspoilt, good facilities.....

After being stuck on the N3 for over 14 hours, we finally reached Howick - exhausted and cold. We made a last minute booking at Greendale.......and WOW!!!! The warm welcome by Karin was exactly what we needed. She was friendly, accommodating and made our stay super comfortable! The unit was equipped with everything we needed. The bed was comfy and warm, the shower superb!!! We were grateful to come accross such an amazing place!!! Thank you Karin, for everything!!! Our appreciation cannot be measured!!!!

Lisa was a great host. Great communication from get-go. We had no issues with self check in. The cottage was clean and exactly like the pictures. It was cozy and had everything we needed. A few minutes from Howick falls, markets, and close to the highway.
