Pretty little town with so much to enjoy and experience.

Pretty little town with so much to enjoy and experience. Friendly people. The variety of restaurants was way beyond our expectstions as well as the quality of their food. We are at The Lazy Lizzard, Rude Chef and Karoo Kombuis. Walking around did become a little difficult at times as there were many young children on the streets begging. We felt a little intimidated at times. Easy to access everything on foot.

There are some excellent Restaurants, and we had supper at Jeremy's and Prince Albert Cafe. We loved the Swartberg Hotel and the Green Prince Gin Bar. We walked on the main street and it is very safe.

Prince Albert is a nice little town that feels very safe. The trip towards it via the Swartberg pass alone was worth it, although this pass is not for the faint harted, as it is about 22 km of narrow stoney road.

This town is one of my favorite places in South Africa, because it is beautiful, artistic, at the foot of the majestic Swartberg mountains, not too far from the sea, close to Cape Town, close to the Hexriver valley, close to the most beautiful winelands in South Africa. It has its own theatre, the most beautiful historic church and houses. It is simple and quiet, probably because it is somewhat hidden from the major routes between Cape Town and Johannesburg.

This is an up-to-date Great Karoo town, both quaint and modern. Plenty of options to do, depending on time of the year and time of the day. Packed with a wide range of stays, restaurants - some pet-friendly, hikes and MTB trails. Note that this is the Karoo, which means very hot in summer months (Jan, Feb), and crisp during the winter nights. It has an airfield 2km North of the town which is useful for flying enthusiasts. Worth a visit for a (long)weekend, or as a travellers rest for the onward journey to the coast or inland.

Firstly Prince Albert is a magical little town. We booked a full day bread course at the African Relish Cooking School and the Yellow House was the perfect base. It was really comfortable, with every amenity you could want, including a pod coffee machine and milk frother, which made morning coffees on the stoep overlooking the orchard all the better. Petro and Joubert were so welcoming and friendly. And the restaurant on site was a real foodie experience. We will definitely be back!
