The male staff was very nice and welcoming, but the female staff seemed a bit unfriendly. The hotel itself was excellent and had a charming, classic atmosphere. The only downside was the alarming sound of the clock at night.

I would like to thank Vita and Chef Olga for fulfilling our request to prepare the breakfast cake, which was very delicious. The historical building and variety of breakfast foods were also wonderful.

We liked the atmosphere and the location. Staff was kind and helpful. No issues with the late check out and they even bought flowers for Valentines Day on my request. How kind of them. See you next time.

The charm of this enchanting fairy tale city in the Czech Republic is best experienced during winter when snow covers magical Český Krumlov Castle. Lying along the banks of the Vltava River, the historic old town comes alive during summer when cafes and restaurants overflow with the influx of tourists.
The castle makes an imposing backdrop against narrow cobblestone streets and a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture in its old buildings. Choose an art gallery, museum or theatre like the 17th-century
Castle Baroque Theatre, located inside the castle’s beautiful gardens.

I have been here before many years ago and loved it. I enjoyed being able to take my mother this time. We lived how quaint.and easy to walk around it was. April was not busy so nice quiet strolls around the town. In old town they have the best crêperie.just a unique town.
We took the train from Prague which was nice but know there is no bus service into town only taxis.

Český krumlov is a beautiful town.
Český krumlov is a beautiful town. We went between Christmas and New year. It was freezing! We noticed so many of the shops closed early. I’m not sure if this was because of the time of year or if this is because they cater for the day trip clients that come to visit from Prague. During the day it was so busy but after 4pm we noticed the town was so quiet. we could have explored so much more but one day, for us was not anywhere near enough time. we will come back again. In the summer!
We visited the torture museum and the wax museum. wax museum was strange. not really any information as you went round. was more of looking then matching the characters from a sheet of paper that had been translated. not all the wax work people were on the sheet and had no information on them.
The torture museum was a little like this too. You saw different torture scenes with characters but then there would be information posters scattered around. one room full of torture equipment and what it was used for. I personally find this part of history interesting, to see the actual devices used. I was reading the Prague executioner. So this all ties in well.
we didn’t get to see the bears in the moat as they are inactive this time of year. We didn’t get a chance to look on the cloak bridge. I’d say you need a whole day. starting early or two days minimum. less than a week. two nights would be perfect.

That was our 3rd visit so we already knew what to look.
That was our 3rd visit so we already knew what to look. Cesky Krumlov is beautiful little town, untouched by the years - you may always discover new and interesting details even if it is your umpteenth visit. The food is good - you can choose to get something in good restaurants or just a streedfood, the beer - especially the dark - exceptional. I only can recommend. That was definetely not our lost visit!

It really is a quaint town, but as a result it is full, and I must repeat, full of tourists. As such, it is geared to meet their needs - restaurants and accommodation abound, and there's not much in the way of this influencing prices so it's quite expensive (think Prague plus 10%).
That being said, it's definitely worth a visit - probably more so than Prague as you can take advantage of other places to see nearby (not to mention the wine from the region ;-)). It can be 'done' in one day as it's small, but in the summer there are loads of activities so maybe staying a night is worth it.
Be aware that parking is a nightmare!

This beautiful and romantic old medieval city has stolen my heart and my breath.
Sadly, all attractions were closed at the time when city was full of tourists and I was hoping to see the castle and other attractions from inside too, not only from outside, but sadly, all museums, even the smallest ones were closed, and the castle is closed until the March.
But otherwise, it was an amazing time walking the old medieval city streets, next to the river... very beautiful.
I would recommend the restaurant Lazebna, where we have eat traditional Czech food, in the old building. Except the realistic feeling of medieval tavern, the food was just amazing, and their local Kulajda soup was just an amazing surprise for me. One of the best soups I have eaten in my life. Next day I have tried the same soup in one of hotel restaurants, but it was not the same. This one I recommend with all my hearth.

First of all, it's my second time I'm staying in this hotel. Moreover, both times I've stayed in Cesky Krumlov - both time I've stayed in this hotel. Location - well, you CAN'T find a better location - it's the best. Stuff - super helpful and amazing. Rooms - perfect. I've stayed in the 3rd floor and under the roof - both locations have it's own charm. Valet parking - super helpful, considering location of this hotel. Breakfast - great! Anyway, top-notch!
Hotel is in unbeatable location just at the beautiful Krumlov old town and very near to the castle and P1 parking area (we have no problems with parking places). Breakfasts were various and very tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a gift at the end - a set of Czech bears per room. It was nice surprise. If I will return to Cesky Krumlov in the future I would choose this hotel again.
We got an upgrade from Pension Vltavin, and they gave us a room in Grand Hotel. So basically this review is about Grand Hotel. It is right in the centre of Cesky Krumlov, and of high quality. Our car was parked by the staff in a parking lot outside the historical city centre. At the end, someone from the hotel brought us to the car with a shuttle bus. Everything was really very nice about the stay.
George @ reception was cool and advised us on places to go etc and Paul in Hotel restaurant was so helpful and friendly as well.
The hotel is awesome, next to the river, plenty of space and is right in the heart of the unbeliveable town of Cesky Krumlov. I would recommend 2 days to enjoy the cobble stone adventure
