I have been here before many years ago and loved it.
I have been here before many years ago and loved it. I enjoyed being able to take my mother this time. We lived how quaint.and easy to walk around it was. April was not busy so nice quiet strolls around the town. In old town they have the best crêperie.just a unique town. We took the train from Prague which was nice but know there is no bus service into town only taxis.Guest review bySabrinaUnited States - Review score6.0

The Christmas market was great, and the old town area is nice - just like any/most old town areas. There are some sights to see, but mid-late December isn't a good time to visit. It's a good base to do day trips from, for example Cesky Krumlov is 30 minutes by car, you can visit a zoo or castle, go hiking, etc. Be sure to check out Přemysl Otakar II Square and its surroundings, most sights are within 10 minutes of walking distance there.Guest review byAndrásHungary - Review score10.0

We enjoyed wandering around the narrow streets feeling the history of the town as well as the park below, river trail and hanging out around the main square. The Jarmarkt took place during our visit and we saw a much livelier town then than the two days previously. The number and variety of restaurants is reasonable for a 3 to 4 night stay but we found two delightful cafes that we fell in love with - Cafe Budik and Cafe Zastavka - both serve delicious coffee and the atmosphere is perfect. We were disappointed not to be able to try the pivovar - the opening hours are weekdays and during the daytime.Guest review byAnnaCzech Republic - Review score10.0
Pisek is known as "Little Prague."
Pisek is known as "Little Prague." It is a lovely, historic town on the Otava River with great restaurants and cafes, a stone bridge that is older than Charles Bridge in Prague, an interesting city museum, and easy access to numerous hiking and bicycling trails. Great castles (e.g. Orlik, Zvikov) are nearby. It was liberated by the US 3rd Army at the end of WWII. Well worth a visit!Guest review byRoyUnited States - Review score10.0
This is a cyclist's paradise!
This is a cyclist's paradise! There are countless trails that come and go around the complex system of lakes in this region. Each day you can go in a new direction, and come back to the lovely town of Třeboň. The architecture and ambiance of Southern Bohemia is historic but never overstated. If you love nature and history, this place is a necessary stop on your trip!Guest review byBrianUnited States - Review score10.0
Everything was just amazing.
Everything was just amazing. Well equipped and you can find anything you need. The only thing we faced was I didn’t like it’s when We arrived late at night and it wasn’t so clear from where to pick up the keys, picking keys is from a related hotel about 5 minutes drive.Guest review bysonaIsrael - Review score10.0

Unfortunately my stay was too short and the weather was not on our side. We only saw Hluboka Castle, which we were very impressed by. Great architecture, exterior and interior. An incredible experience. Definitely worth seeing.Guest review byЛазарова - Review score10.0

So many twisty streets to follow and then, BAM, a gorgeous group of buildings, or a fabulous church. Lots of lovely spots to enjoy food and drink. The Gobelin tapestry museum and tour really satisfied my love of Czech crafts.Guest review byBonnieCzech Republic - Review score10.0

I visited all the big stones laying in divers forests, most of them in the Blockhaide, I like to make bike trips, this is very nice here. It is not far to Weitra or Schrems or even Czechia. Best Place of Waldviertel. Even Prices are reasonable compared with Vienna, and food has special contry side quality, compared with Vienna, in my mindGuest review byManfredAustria - Review score10.0
Český krumlov is a beautiful town.
Český krumlov is a beautiful town. We went between Christmas and New year. It was freezing! We noticed so many of the shops closed early. I’m not sure if this was because of the time of year or if this is because they cater for the day trip clients that come to visit from Prague. During the day it was so busy but after 4pm we noticed the town was so quiet. we could have explored so much more but one day, for us was not anywhere near enough time. we will come back again. In the summer! We visited the torture museum and the wax museum. wax museum was strange. not really any information as you went round. was more of looking then matching the characters from a sheet of paper that had been translated. not all the wax work people were on the sheet and had no information on them. The torture museum was a little like this too. You saw different torture scenes with characters but then there would be information posters scattered around. one room full of torture equipment and what it was used for. I personally find this part of history interesting, to see the actual devices used. I was reading the Prague executioner. So this all ties in well. we didn’t get to see the bears in the moat as they are inactive this time of year. We didn’t get a chance to look on the cloak bridge. I’d say you need a whole day. starting early or two days minimum. less than a week. two nights would be perfect.Guest review byDanovaUnited Kingdom
