Kangaroo Island is the perfect island to see, and Kingscot is the largest town on the island, with all the facilities. Although it closes early on weekends, it doesn't spoil the experience of this fascinating island safari and almost perfect beach walking experienceGuest review byStevenAustralia - Review score8.0

Penneshaw was easy access from Sealink so we made that our base and travelled each day to various locations. We drove to Kingscote but there didn't appear to be anything open, so whether it was because of the time of year. Glad we chose Penneshaw. Not able to comment on the other places as we were limited in time to visit.Guest review bySueAustralia - Review score10.0

I stayed for 4 days and I could have stayed forever! The most beautiful, pristine place I have ever been to! The wildlife, bird life and scenery was so beautiful! The only noise I heard were all the birds singing and the gentle waves….stunningGuest review byCarolineAustralia - Review score10.0
It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way.
It's a lovely beach! Post card quality all the way. Only shame is people are allowed to drive on it, risking the precious wildlife and environment. No shops in Emu bay, but there is a small beachside cafe open select days/ times in summer. About 15mins drive from Kingscote.Guest review byJayneAustralia - Review score10.0
All the local sites are amazing.
All the local sites are amazing. My favourite was Cape de Couedic and Admirals Arch. The development and natural scenery and spectacular, seascape views are outstanding and most of it is accessible for wheelchairs with quality board walking. I Highly recommend a visit to Kangaroo Island. An amazing and challenging level 3 hike to Snake Lagoon is well worth the effort to the Beach. Lovely Cafe for lunch at Stokes Bay and nice little walk to the ⛱️ beach. Excellent asphalt roads make easy access to most sites. 👏Guest review byBarbaraAustralia - Review score6.0

We thoroughly enjoyed the wild life around us , feeding the kangaroos nightly .. very peaceful and relaxing .. however we feel there should’ve been tea/coffee sugar sachets and long life milk on arrival as there aren’t any shops close by .. so after long trip over really looking forward to a coffee .. also washing up liquid was only enough for 1 day .. toilet paper only 2 rolls ( not enough for our 7 day stay ) Went to cook on the bbq , no tongs or scraper . However we did ring owner and he was more then happy to bring us tongs ( but that’s not the point ) all these things are basics in a budget accommodation . stayed in plenty others .. and the bed was very hard but that is too be expected in most cases . Hope these issues get resolved as the location is great .Guest review bycaroleAustralia - Review score10.0
Wedgetaildown is an extraordinary destination.
Wedgetaildown is an extraordinary destination. The accommodation may be the best VRBO/AirBnB we have ever stayed in. It is a perfect size for one or two people. The unit is lovely inside, with very comfortable furniture and beautiful artwork, and it has huge windows that look out over the scenic property. The unit is perfectly appointed and supplied. Although it attached to the main house, you wouldn't know it as the rammed-earth walls prevent any noise transmission, as well as keeping it cool in summer. We found the kitchen to be well designed and that it had everything that we could want. The shower was delightful, and there was a washing machine, which came in very handy! Sitting on the verandah, we were treated to close-up visits by the resident kangaroos and their joeys every day. There were heaps of colorful birds to watch. The resident family of fairy wren were a delight to watch. We saw echidnas several times but missed the resident goannas. And, the magnificent gum tree in front of the verandah was home to a koala during our stay. We were enchanted watching him feed and sleep. If you are looking for peace, solitude, absolute quiet, beautiful scenery and wildlife, all within easy reach of anywhere on the island, you could not possibly find a better place. And, I forgot, the sunsets and stars were to die for. Finally, our hosts, Betty and Peter, were as friendly, accommodating, and helpful as you could want, all while remaining unobtrusive. They graciously provided assistance with a leaky tyre on our car, lent us towels and a blanket for a beach outing, and gave us a whistle and compass to make sure that we wouldn't get lost on far reaches of their property. We would come back in a second!Guest review byDennis HeinemannUnited States - Review score10.0
Perfect location for relaxing and watching the world go by.
Perfect location for relaxing and watching the world go by. Watching the Roos go about their business while relaxing on the deck was pure bliss. We even watched a dolphin fish in the shallows one morning while enjoying.Guest review byDanielAustralia - Review score10.0

What a unique entry to a beach as you walk through the rocks the glimpses of the upcoming beach urges you forward to explore. The rocks open up to an amazing small beach with a rockpool safe for swimming. We were the first people on the beach that day so it was amazing to only see our footprints in the sand. After a great time at the beach head over to Stokes Bay Cafe opened from 11 -5 daily meals were fantastic and reasonably priced. You are a short drive to Pandana for all your grocery needs as Stokes Bay doesn't have a shop for general items. Driving around we were centrally located half way on the island to go and see Kangaroo Island spirits, lavender farm, eucalyptus farm, wool shed, admirals arch and remarkable rocks just make sure you get a entry ticket to Flinders chase the visitor centre Cafe didn't open until 9.30 and didn't accept cash at the Cafe. Short drive to Kingscote to go for lunch or to do some shopping. Had a great time had a small car not a 4wd but still went to all the places the roads were safe and signs easy to follow. Driving at dawn or dusk not advised due to wildlife.Guest review bySharonAustralia - Review score10.0

A great little town to base at with central location and many great places to eat. Good IGA- type store (Drakes) for supplies. Surprisingly good bookshop with coffee + lovely resident dog. Good esplanade walk and local history sites within walking distance. The best tidal pool area I have seen . KI has an amazing coastline, good food and wine. Kingscore is a great holiday destination for both families and those who want peace and quiet.Guest review byCATHAustralia
