Located directly on Four Mile Beach, this boutique hotel in Port Douglas features beach and ocean views. All suites have a large private balcony or terrace. Free WiFi is available.

The location was a dream. The description said across the street from the beach, but it’s a tiny street and there it is! In March it was quiet there, which made it extra wonderful. The hotel was a little boutique style with impeccably friendly service. Free parking. The breakfast was included and amazing every morning. They started a dinner service literally while we were there. Dinner was excellent and done with a lot of care. The hotel was within walking distance of the little village and some great casual restaurants/bars. Close to the marina. Beautiful warm whimsical pool. It was a great place to come home to each night or spend the day right in the neighborhood. Sad to leave paradise!

Nestled within Port Douglas’ resort town surrounded by signature restaurants and boutique shops lies Mantra in the Village Port Douglas.

Location, the deck, listening to the birds sing, the pool, the restaurants right beside it. They even had smooth jazz playing from the tv when I walked into my room

Boasting an outdoor saltwater pool, free on-site parking and BBQ facilities, Port Douglas Motel is just 3 minutes' walk from Four Mile Beach.

The hosts. Both Bernie and Lily made a difference in our staying at this otherwise namesake budget-friendly motel. Due to the tropical rain weather, we had to adjust our travel plan to Port Douglas a couple of times since we had a rental car and were unsure about driving the first time on an Australian coastal road. Bernie was so accommodating, to the point he messaged us while we were on the way about the local weather and road condition and offered us the flexibility to put us at ease. Upon arrival we found our room was extremely clean and nostalgically decorated. We were also pleasantly surprised by the fully equipped community kitchen they offer to all guests. We ended up staying two full nights as originally planned. Our experience was nothing but wonderful. We will for sure stay here again if we ever come back to Port Douglas.

Martinique On Macrossan offers boutique apartments with private balconies in a prime location, just 197 feet from Four Mile Beach.

There is nothing not to like about this property The location is exceptional, a block from 4 mile beach, sitting on Macrossan Street and all the restaurants and shops. The deluxe apartment was well laid out with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. The real treasure at this property is Ken, the owner of this property. His interest and kindness towards his guests is wonderful. He is full of local information, recommendations for places to visit and restaurants. He genuinely cares and is interested in his guests Ken, made our stay an exceptional experience. I would definitely recommend this property and stay here again

Set on over 140 acres of native forest and boasting a private beach, Thala Beach Nature Reserve is an Eco-friendly wildlife retreat.

Thala Beach is a gorgeous property—the bar, restaurant, and main pool are especially well situated. The bungalow was spacious and well laid out. The porters were incredibly helpful and kind—our bungalow had steep, uneven stairs and we had heavy bags! All of the staff we encountered were extremely helpful and thoughtful.

    Soo hot and humid!!!

Soo hot and humid!!! Be prepared but its truly beautiful and the town itself is darling with lots of restaurants and shopping. The Great Barrier Reef was incredible and I would have gone again another day if I could have. I also would have liked more time to explore the Daintree Rainforest.

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)

Cottonwood is like an estate all to yourself, well- and fully-appointed, in close proximity to Port Douglas, Mossman, Daintree & the rainforest. More than enough amenities. It might be considered "expensive" by some but not by us, not for what you get for your money. Amenities? It does not lack any and actually exceeds what most would consider "more-than-enough", much less "the basics". And the Hosts are just that, to a tee: Helpful beforehand and during our stay. Thank you very much.

Plenty of shops from supermarkets to boutique clothing.

Plenty of shops from supermarkets to boutique clothing. Bars were busy at the weekend but not rowdy. A good range available. One bar even has cane toad racing for a novel experience. Besides the pub food there are plenty of good restaurants. Plenty of places to book trips from the large marina. The wildlife sanctuary is excellent, with most of the animals you would expect to see in Australia. Many informative talks and feeding sessions.

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.

    Get happier staff.

Get happier staff. Nothing you can do about the room size now but if you're looking for something more spacious , go to the Sheraton just down the road. I've stayed there and that's way better. If it's a tiny room and close proximity to the Main Street, and you don't mind moody, unaccommodating staff, this is your spot
