Super charming and pretty.
Super charming and pretty. We only had one day and one night as a family there. This was enough for our family with young children who are less into sightseeing. For older children/adults, 2 days would be worth it. Lots of lovely places to sightseeing, ahop and eat.Guest review byHelen - Review score10.0

Great town for families, with lots of pedestrianised areas, little traffic, and lots of sandy beaches that are never busy. Cheaper than Knokke or Bruges, Ostend is also a perfect base for exploring Flanders, with everything within a short drive or train journey and nice beaches on your doorstep for the days you don't feel like exploring.Guest review byAlbertUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0

Blankenberge is for my family a special vacation destination. We like it due to the convenient transport, the train stops in the center of the city. The city is not big and has its charm, by walking it is possible to reach each attraction. The tram allows you to go to the other cities and towns located along the Belgian coast. Therefore, your trip can be even more attractive.Guest review byAnonymousBelgium - Review score10.0

Kortrijk exceeded our expectations, its a very interesting place full of Belgian (Flanders) and European history, including the "Battle of the Golden Spurs" (1302) and a flourishing textile (flax) industry that rivaled the wool industry in Brugge in the Middle Ages and continues today. Don't miss the Textile Museum and the free high-tech video presentation at the Church of Our Lady for the history of the battle between the French and Flemish. Kortrijk has many place to stay and eat at a wide range of reasonable prices. The town is very walkable to all tourist attractions.Guest review byCharlesBelgium - Review score10.0
The centre of Ypres has been completely reconstructed since...
The centre of Ypres has been completely reconstructed since the end of the first world war, it is very authentic. The people are very friendly and a large proportion speak English. There are plenty of places to eat and the food was excellent and well worth the price! My one minor issue was the cobbled streets and pavements are mainly cobbled and uneven making use of my electric wheel chair challenging. The surrounding area has several sites relating to WW1, I visited Tyne Cot, the largest WW1 war graves cemetery in the world I believe with some 11000 graves and further 35000 names of those whose bodies were never identified. It is a beautiful, peaceful place albeit very sobering to see. In Ypres itself is the Menine Gate. It is very easy to walk to from the hotel and once again is engraved with thousands of names of the fallen who were never identified. At 8pm every night a ceremony is conducted to remember the fallen, the Ypres Fire Brigade provide buglers who play the last post and wreaths are laid by various groups, it is very moving.Guest review byAnonymous - Review score10.0

If you like a mondaine place next to the see, with great nature, walks, beaches, beachclubs nearby this is the place. Great selection of restaurants, shopping, Golf and watersports. Knokke has a famous Micro climate and a nature reserve to go for long walks. Dogs are allowed on the beach between Mid October and April. The rich and the famous come here to see and be seen, so that you need to be in favour of. Dont expect Knokke to be the same a a remote beach village in Bretagne, but it certainly is worth a visit.Guest review byKimFrance - Review score8.0

It's very easy to take the Kusttram which takes you from De Panne to Knokke and back. No car needed esp. during low season since tram has many stops between those two towns. There is the very interesting Paul Delvaux museum in Koksijde. The Westfront Nieuwpoort Museum which tells the history of Nieuwpoort during WW I. Very educational and interactive.Guest review byMenjohgeLuxembourg - Review score10.0

We have always loved Middlekerke, a very friendly place with lots of activities for all ages. There is a lot of building going on, which did not affect, but enhanced the stay as it is very interesting to watch. It is so easy to travel up and down the coast using the Kustram. We parked the car on arrival and did not use it again until we came home. Bonus to have free parking outside the appartment, and in plenty of places in Middelkerke. So close to the outstanding Dunes which are now protected and the Atlantic Wall Museum which has grown so big over the last few years and now has a WW1 area, you need a full day if you are visiting and also snacks and drinks as there is no cafe.Guest review byJeanUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0

A beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and in a great location, views from the balcony were amazing ! All round terrace so views from every room. Lift access from a free car parking space underneath the building. Kitchen had everything you need for but if you are coming by car remember to bring the little things like coffee, tea and sugar and a tea towel and maybe a coat hanger or two, me personally lived out of my case so it did not bother me too much but my friend hand her clothes on the coat pegs in the hallway. Not a biggie. There is a Lidl and Aldi about a mile away which was handy, but we did not see any other shops close by, it was February so possibly the shops are seasonal. Transport links very good, and we caught the coastal tram to Ostend which was just under 8 euros for a day pass, so you can hop on and off all day. I cannot say anything negative about the apartment and would highly recommendGuest review byrachelUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0
De Haan is a quiet and very picturesque town on the coast.
De Haan is a quiet and very picturesque town on the coast. The beach area is vast and deep; there is space for everyone and every activity. There are many offerings for every kind of tourist; sitting on the beach, walking, cycling, reading, etc….. Brugge is not far away for a day trip. The coastal tram is a convenient and hassle-free way to visit other resorts along the coast. Afterwards, it’s nice to return to the quiet of De Haan.Guest review byErikaUnited Kingdom
