Overlooking Loch Feochan with panoramic views of rugged mountains and tranquil islands, Knipoch House Hotel is just a short drive from Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland and a gateway to the Isles....

Every comfort you might need and more. Our room was above the kitchen so was a little noisy up until 10.30. We did ask to be moved which was accomplished. Staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay better.

A level 15 min walk from town, 26 is a small elegant and stylishly decorated hotel. It feels opulent and was very clean and comfortable. Everything there felt special and we were treated professionally by an excellent staff. Our room had a fabulous sea view and an exceptional luxury bathroom. Breakfast was excellent in an open kitchen restaurant with a view of the chef at work. Service there also first class. All diets are catered for, including vegan and gluten free.

We only stayed one night but Oban is a great gateway with a hotel to suit all travellers. We had the best fish and chips at Oban F&C, a friendly welcome, and Enjoyed a level walk around the town. It’s a large port with plenty of facilities. We look forward to returning one day to explore it further

A fabulous seaside town with plenty to do and see. You'll enjoy it if you love going out for coffee/cake, walks, bike rides, sea swimming, wildlife spotting, attending workshops etc. There's a local cinema, arts centre, popular wine bar, a couple of small supermarkets and plenty of independent shops, cafes, chip shops for a town of its size. Check out the local bookshop, head to Benmore Botanic Gardens, swim at West Bay beach, look out for dolphins at the pier.

Great place to base for golf, walking, fishing or just absolute relaxation. It’s a hidden gem and even the journey here is spectacular with the alps of Arrochar to the crashing waves along the Kintyre peninsula. It’s been my go to place to relax for 40 years with such friendly people and plenty to do if doing is your thing.

Lovely walking around this quaint village and the history of it. A must visit is the cafe called the Village Rest the food is excellent, service is fantastic and it's very reasonable priced. We did the a 90 minute boat trip called Cruise on Loch Lomond and it was excellent would definitely recommend it. The captain was very knowledgeable about the loch and surrounding areas, very interesting indeed.

A reasonably compact town, with great facilities. We spent the first part of our trip visiting the castle, the Discovery Centre, the Bute Yard and the shops. We dined out in the Glenburn Hotel, which wasn't far from our accommodation at St Ebba's on the first evening; subsequently, we snacked during the day at the Electric Bakery, and in the evening at the excellent Kettledrum a stone's throw from the port - Kate and her staff were excellent!! There are great walks along Mount Stuart Road, and also to the north along the road to Port Bannatyne. We will return!!

Lovely town, great for walking around, we visited the distillery and had a great time, there were no tours scheduled but the lassie in the shop contacted the manager who was in doing office work and he came down as she took us on the tour, after the tour the lass and he gave us the tasting experience with both of them being highly entertaining, much to the delight of our Canadian friend who hails from Tobermory Ontario, apologies for not remembering our hosts names.

Tarbert is a lovely small fishing port. It has a slight feeling of tiredness but the community is clearly investing in gardens, open spaces etc. Try Lulabelles for an excellent dinner. We had the street food menu which was delicious.
