Peebles is a lovely town, and has a good number and variety of shops. Many of the usual names are there but local and specialist shops are present and make this an interesting place to visit. Good walks up the Tweed and plenty to visit nearby if you are prepared to put in the effort.Guest review byGeorgeUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0
Friendly place with something for everyone to do,.
Friendly place with something for everyone to do,. We only had a short weekend . But once a year we travel far and wide. Travelling the coastline finding hidden hideaways with the most natural untouched places. The Scottish government provide such lovely clean places and honestly I would move to Kelso in a heart beat.Guest review byShaunUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0

Lovely town, would love to stay longer. the property is across road from leisure centre with pool, supermarkets all close by, lots of lovey walking, great, clean streets and independent shops. a 10minute walk to Wilton Lodge Park with museum, lots of sculptures, waterfall and great playpark with lots of seating for picnic and a cafe next to the parkGuest review byDawn-ClaireUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0
It is an old town with pretty wynds and old houses.
It is an old town with pretty wynds and old houses. I was there on a Saturday evening and Sunday so the shops were not open but a number of places to eat were. Everyone was very friendly and in the evening after dark as a woman alone, I felt quite safe there. the harbour is a delight as it is still a working place and not just a museum. I was visiting family so did not enter any of the 'amusements though I noticed that Guns Green house was closed for refurbishment.Guest review byStaveley - Review score10.0

Jedburgh has a number of good tourist "sites" - one of the best abbeys. The main sites in town are all within easy walking distance of each other - so if you book accommodation in the town centre you can ditch the car while sightseeing in town. It is also a great spot for day trips to other tourist sites in the Borders area - super easy drives to the other abbeys, castles, etc. Most are less than a half hour drive and can be strung together into great circle day tours. There are a number of good restaurants and cafes in the town, although be warned that after tourist season (we were there in mid-Oct) some of them close early. We ate at the Carters Rest and the Belters Bar - great dinners at both locations.Guest review byJanetCanada - Review score10.0
Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. People were lovely.
Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. People were lovely. Mac Arts is a fabulous music venue. Untangled, the yarn shop, is fab and the Great Tapestry of Scotland is phenomenal. The Salmon Inn was a great place to stay and I have already booked to return.Guest review byKateUnited Kingdom - Review score8.0

Nice little town, lovely market square, lots of seats.
Nice little town, lovely market square, lots of seats. Lovely park. However there were very few shops and only one place to get a meal in the evening. Jim Clarke Museum is really worth a visit - walking distance from the centre.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom
