This is the island my Mother's family was from many generations ago and so it was important for my son and I to visit. It was not what we expected, it was so much more. It was easy to move around and it was the perfect place to rest, recharge and reconnect with the ghosts of our ancestors as tourists were minimal because it is not a party island and nor should it be. It is a very well - kept secret but had everything we needed and more. Next time we will travel in the shoulder season rather than winter to enjoy the beaches and further explore the history and all the island has to offer.Guest review byLianneAustralia - Review score8.0
We liked the beach that we could walk to.
We liked the beach that we could walk to. The free sun beds if you eat in the restaurants. It wasn't too busy or crowded. The bus service was good to the capital. A relaxed and friendly resort. There was lots of interesting places to visit in the Island.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0
The Bahari restaurant was exceptional.
The Bahari restaurant was exceptional. The food was delicious. Suitable for the wheelchair. The toilets are perfectly clean. There was a menstrual pad for our use. That is very thoughtful of them. The service was spectacular. The sea view is marvellous. There was a good size of the car park in front of the restaurant.Guest review bybesteteacherTurkey - Review score10.0

Kampos is a nice area full of older mansions, many restored for use as bed and breakfast. The mansions typically have high walls, and extensive gardens inside the courtyards, full of trees and flowers. It is generally a quiet area, very quaint, and close to major roads leading south, north, and west, not far from the capital city and the airport. We ate at a variety of establishments, both in the nearby village and on the coast. All had fresh seafood and local dishes and the prices were very reasonable. We didn't find a place anywhere that could be considered a "tourist trap."Guest review byVerlinUnited States - Review score10.0

Picturesque medieval village, close to excellent beaches, bars and a very good fish restaurant. The monastry of Ag. Markella (the patron saint of the area) is 7 KM boasting breathtaking views of the Western side of Chios.Guest review byDemetrisGreece - Review score10.0
The house is new and modern, and the view was beautiful.
The house is new and modern, and the view was beautiful. The furniture and household items inside were new and clean. The location of the house was also great, close to a good beach. Breakfast was sufficient and nice every day. Communication with the owner was easy, and they were very helpful with all our requests. They also gave us recommendations on places to visit. The cleanliness of the house was great, and when they cleaned later, they even washed the dishes. Thank you very much. I was satisfied with everything, and I will definitely stay here again when I returnGuest review byOnurGermany - Review score10.0
Mesta should be a world heritage site.
Mesta should be a world heritage site. This beautiful stone village is like a step back in time, it's so well preserved and authentic. It's a delight to wander the narrow alleys and relax in the little main square. There's plenty to do around the area as well - nearby mastica villages Olympi and Pyrgi are also wonderful day trips, and there are lots of lovely beaches around too. One thing to note is that Mesta doesn't have a few modern things you might need, like an ATM, gas station, pharmacy, doctor, supermarket, etc. You have to drive about 15-20 minutes to Pyrgi for those things. Also, no public transportation, and I didn't see any taxis.Guest review byFoggyMondayUnited States - Review score10.0
Our stay at Seaside Luxury Komi Beach Villa was fantastic.
Our stay at Seaside Luxury Komi Beach Villa was fantastic. We enjoyed Komi and the villa which was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were extremely helpful and very responsive. The villa was close to the little harbour where we could get fresh fish. The beach itself is fantastic and the sea water is very clean. The surroundings offered a unique insight into the Mastiha tree tradition and the history and tradition of the island.Guest review bySvetlanaAustria - Review score10.0
We should have stayed in Chios longer.
We should have stayed in Chios longer. The sea's are relatively clear and clean and there is so much history on this Ireland that more time would have been great. The airport is also near to most of the touristy places. Great and reasonably priced Food nice people, perfect climate and nice fresh sea air. What else would two people want from a holiday.Guest review byLeonida StavrosUnited Kingdom - Review score4.0

If you can swim in the sea - if there are no jellyfish - the sea and the beach are nice and sufficient, but Karfas is a very small city and inadequate. It is much more logical to stay in Chios and travel around by car and make day trips.Guest review byMustafa KorayTurkey
