Esztergom is a beautiful historical town.
Esztergom is a beautiful historical town. People are friendly here, as in most of Hungary. Excellent shopping and dining options. Sometimes there is a problem with parking down in the city. Very good parking options around the basilica.Guest review byPetrCzech Republic - Review score6.0

Be aware that booking through Booking.com you will NOT be given ALL the details regarding price, you will be offered a good price which comes with caveat that 'taxes will be payable at the hotel' actually turns out to be twice what you're being offered through Booking.com The hotel staff 'conveniently' couldn't speak English when advising of an issue with the shower in the room, then nothing was done to alleviate the issue. The Hotel itself is a lovely stay but head the warnings above so you're not caught short at the reception area.Guest review byLee - Review score10.0
Such a pretty little town especially if the weather is good.
Such a pretty little town especially if the weather is good. We went out of season (April) so a lot of places weren't open but we were able to find a choice of restaurants for our evening meal. We were only there for 24 hours so didn't have time to visit the various museums so perhaps a couple of days would have been better. Only downside was the heaps of tourists/tour groups. I imagine in the summer it would be heaving with people so I was glad we went when we did.Guest review byJuliaUnited Kingdom - Review score8.0
Small and nice city.
Small and nice city. Sure, one day is completely enough there but you can use this place to explore the area around incl. Esztergom, Visegrad and even a day trip to Budapest by ferry is possible. Enough restaurant options for some days.Guest review byCarsten__JGermany - Review score10.0

Zebegeny, is a beautiful little village , pretty much un touched by time, set on the banks of the Danube. Adequate facilities, a few nice shops/bars, glorious hilly countryside, lots of tracks for walking, and cycling. Peace, beauty, and tranquility, like going back in time, and only an hour from Budapest on the trainGuest review byROBERTUnited Kingdom - Review score8.0

Dunakeszi is a small city North of Budapest that we always visit for dental appointments and visiting relatives. It's not especially touristic but I like it for its rural air. There is of course always the Duna (Danube) which is good for a quiet stroll. By renting a car, it was fortunately easy moving around in Dunakeszi. Otherwise, there are enough trains connecting it to Budapest, but getting around within the city might get a little challenging. Not due to the lack of buses, but you have to plan for an extended commuting time.Guest review byBalazsSwitzerland - Review score10.0

Esztergom is not a big city and it gives opportunities for travelers to walk to most of the sights. The importance of the city on the Danube was high and it is rich in history. The seat of the head of the Hungarian Catholic church is in Esztergom and the cathedral is stunningly beautiful with a cafe in the dome part, which provides uncomparable view of the city and the surroundings. I would visit again if I have opportunity!Guest review byTanyaBulgaria - Review score10.0

Unfortunately we only stayed shortly, but had time to taste the best ice-cream with a big variety of flavours in a local shop. We also visited the Castle of Visegrád, from where you get the best view of the Duna - kanyar.Guest review byAndrea - Review score10.0

Szentendre is a picturesque town with a lot of interesting alleys to walk through and find hidden gems, including the walk down to the Danube River and along the path towards the Japanese Garden. I also visited Skansen the Open Air Museum which was an hour’s walk although you can take the bus. Many of the reconstructed buildings have information in English. I enjoyed the weekend beak to the North of Hungary!Guest review byClareHungary - Review score6.0
I really stayed here only to go to Visegrad.
I really stayed here only to go to Visegrad. The places in Visegrad were either booked or too expensive. There was nothing out of the ordinary to see in Vac, so I would skip it the next time. Yes, there was a church, square, etc. These were all lovely. They were far less vibrant than in other towns in Hungary I have been. I did enjoy watching the sunset on the Danube in Vac.Guest review byMarciUnited States
