Outside the town is more interesting than inside.
Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. It was a waste of our money and a much bigger waste of our limited time on the island.Guest review byKarenUnited States - Review score10.0
The island is absolutely isolated.
The island is absolutely isolated. Only transportation is bicycles. Most tourists arrive on the morning ferry and leave on the evening ferry so when you stay overnight, it is very, very quiet and isolated. We really loved that part of it! “Guest review byDavidUnited States - Review score10.0

A shorter list such as tidy up after cooking and that emptying bins and removing shoes to protect floors and general things not a long check list for a cleaner to do and insyring a drop of milk is there for guests as the shop may be closed on arrival also if we had of know this we would have got bits before arrival so advising guests to be prepared be greatGuest review byJohnIreland - Review score10.0
The island is truly amazing.
The island is truly amazing. Great accommodations, great food, great people. I just happened to be there during the Bodhran Festival and it was incredible. I loved how everyone participated sharing their talents. I will definitely return. Get the Crepes by the pier. The St Tola crepe is to die for. Oh and definitely the Man of Aran Fudge. ♥️💚Guest review byArcticfirefoxUnited States - Review score10.0

We highly highly recommend Aran Bike Hire - they couldn't have been nicer kitting us out with bikes. Then, when we had a non bike related wrist break, Michael & team came to our rescue - driving the patient to meet the on-call doc; then to our accommodation to wait for the ferry & then directly to the ferry with an ambulance to meet us in Rossaveal. We really appreciated the Aran islanders' care and warmth - we felt treated as family. It came as no surprise to us to hear from AnnMarie that the islanders sponsor the annual visit of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation charity for ill children and their families.Guest review byHeidiIreland - Review score10.0
There is lots to see and do on the island.
There is lots to see and do on the island. Lots of history and prehistoric monuments. If you are into live music, there's no shortage of that. The Islanders we met were kind and welcoming. We have dietary restrictions, but we're still able to find decent food to eat. There are some spectacular views, and Poll na bPéist in particular is definitely worth a visit.Guest review bySiobhánIreland - Review score10.0
Beautiful island . Everything within walking distance .
Beautiful island . Everything within walking distance . Lots to see lovely walks by staying overnight the island gets much quieter in the evening to stroll around or alternatively for a more lively atmosphere you can head to one of the local pubs.Guest review bySarah JayneIreland - Review score10.0

A great experience of the old Irish way full of culture and the traditional way of life. Joe wattys and the Bar are great for a meal and a drink with lots of options I'm getting around the island with bus/pony tours and electric bikes to offer.Guest review bydavinaIreland - Review score10.0
It is always a joy to visit Inis Mor.
It is always a joy to visit Inis Mor. It is particularly enjoyable at this time of the year before the summer season kicks in. Plenty of walks and sights to see. If the weather is not good, there are the pubs where craic and chat are to be had. The music in Joe Watty's is worth checking out along with their beef caserole.Guest review byAndrewIreland - Review score10.0

So glad we chose this island instead of the others—for us, we wanted to walk and be outside and enjoy the local pub and live music and all of that was perfect. We didn’t rent bikes but that looked like a fun way to get around the island. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends who want a slow weekend to get away and enjoy peace. Our three teenagers probably would’ve been bored after two nights but for two days and none night they had plenty to do, climbing over the castle, exploring the shipwreck, running down to the tiny beach, walking to the lighthouse, and petting all the friendly donkeys and horses that would stick their heads over the stone walls. We walked about 8 miles in those two days and slept really well.Guest review byAnonymous
