We only stayed 1 day in Sorrento as we were actually based...
We only stayed 1 day in Sorrento as we were actually based in Naples and it was a last minute decision to stay overnight there. However it is easy to get around Sorrento so we were able to explore quite a lot during the day and it was a great place to relax in the evening.Guest review byThomas - Review score10.0
Vico is a very interesting town steeped in history.
Vico is a very interesting town steeped in history. It was a pleasure just wandering around, especially as we were there the first part of March when it was full of the local Italians and there were few tourists. There are a lot of interesting buildings to visit within it and many more places around it to which one can go for a day out including, of course, Pompeii and Herculaneum. Travel is easy and cheap either by the Circumvesuviana train or by bus. Having been recommended 3 restaurants we stuck to them during our stay, namely: Al Buco, Al Barrio and Pizzeria da Franco. There is a fascinating small Museum of Antiquities, displaying pottery from the 6th century BC onwards and an interesting Mineralogical Museum as well. Both are free entry. All the locals were very friendly and happy to chat!Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom - Review score10.0
My cousin and I stayed at La Lobre for three days this past...
My cousin and I stayed at La Lobre for three days this past October, and what a lovely stay it was! The staff were all amazing, the accomodations were clean and well kept and spacious. I loved having an actual sit-down deck off our room with 2 chairs an a table. The food both in the morning and at night was simply amazing--traditional regional Italian food homemade at the inn, and served family style under the lemon trees in the evening. Much of it came from La Lobra's own gardens, which surround the inn. We walked around Massa Lubrense, along the road with it's remarkable views of the ocean , the harbor, with Capri, and Naples visble in the distance so scenic! Also, Pepe, one of the owner's sons , drove us (for a $70 fee) all the way from Positano--a breathtaking ride along the famous road, Wow. It was all simply delightful.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - Review score10.0
It was within easy walk of Sorrento.
It was within easy walk of Sorrento. There are some lovely restaurants. Il Ruttin is a lovely restaurant with great food and very friendly staff. We had the nicest ever pancakes in Lapillo! Not to be missed. Close to Sorrento but much more relaxed and quieter. Train station connecting to Sorrento is only a short walk awayGuest review byJulieIreland - Review score8.0
Meta is lovely.
Meta is lovely. I would use it more as a base though and tour around. Like Pompeii or Rome which was a short trip. It’s pretty quiet, not much around for a grocery store but the people were some of the loveliest we met throughout our tour through Italy. Bus is decent, hard to get a taxi. Train service excellent. You must try Le Conca restaurant in Meta - we went every day, is what THAT good! https://www.ristorantelaconca.net/ Wifi was spotty throughout, but we were having severe rainstorm while here which impacted where we could go. Sorrento was flooded.Guest review byZimmermannCanada - Review score10.0
My husband and I liked everything.
My husband and I liked everything. Very nice and lovely owners, who gave us all of the attention to make our holiday superb! The room was clean and our bed was made every day. We had yummy breakfast and great sleep. The area is quiet and the villa is 7 min to the train station. We had welcome drinks, fresh fruit, water in the fridge and we were given some tips how to explore the area. We really recommend the villa to everyone who is looking for a great holiday stay!Guest review byvan_gogAustralia - Review score8.0
It was fantastic. Great views.
It was fantastic. Great views. Beautiful culture, area, lots to do. Kitchen is a bit small if you plan on cooking every meal but you don’t need to. Affordable local restaurants are walking distance and the best food we had in Italy. Try Eugenia. - restaurant a bit down from the church.Guest review byJonathonUnited States - Review score10.0
Amazing place to stay with your family or friends.
Amazing place to stay with your family or friends. We enjoyed every moment in the villa. Perfect location to visit Sorrento and Amalfi coast. Well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill allows to enjoy lovely dinners in the terrace with the sea view. Moreover, pool and lemon tree garden allows you to cool down from the heat. And finally, Pino is such an amazing host! He helped us with everything we need, from finding best restaurants around to having some music in the villa.Guest review byAgneBaLithuania - Review score8.0
Delightful town, beautiful town square in walking distance...
Delightful town, beautiful town square in walking distance and many good shops, gelato and I had my best meal in Italy, close to the hotel. Very easy and safe to walk around. I also walked to the bus / train station which was about 5 mins from the hotel. It felt like a vacation after the fast pace of Venice, Rome and FLorence.Guest review byMLKCanada - Review score8.0
Excellent view of Vesuvio.
Excellent view of Vesuvio. Close to Sorrento and not far from Pompeii/Naples/Amalfi coast. We rented a car despite being advised against it. I have read a few reviews and they proved to be true: even in offseason, parking is difficult and very expensive. On the other hand, a car gives you freedom and time to visit more places. I do not regret renting a car - even dared to drive to Naples:-) Sorrento: we only had a few hours to visit in the evening. It is offseason, so most restaurants are closed and the ones that are open are not very good and expensive. Positano: avoid with car. expensive (6 euros for a fridge magnet?). Very special experience. Amalfi: our favorite town on the coast. Easier parking, cheaper than Positano (in February).Guest review byAndrasHungary
