Located a few steps from Gulhi, Ayala Oceanview Maldives offers 4-star accommodations in Gulhi and has a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace.

We had a spontaneous trip to the Maldives and booked a hotel on Gulhi Island just two days before our departure. Our first choice was Ayala, but we could only secure a booking for our last night on the island. For the first two nights, we stayed at another hotel. Upon arrival on the island, we encountered a lack of assistance from our originally booked hotel. Looking for help, we walked into Ayala—even though our stay wasn’t until two days later—and were warmly welcomed by the front desk team. We met their GM Bong who is very friendly and welcoming. Even before our actual stay at the hotel, Bong eagerly assisted us and went above and beyond—since they don’t have a “resort tour” scheduled for the following day (he personally contacted a travel agency on our behalf and even walked us to their office to ensure we got the information we needed. The customer service at Ayala is truly outstanding, making them stand out from other properties on the island. The hotel has everything you could need—a lovely and spotless restaurant serving delicious and affordable food and drinks. They have a good selection for breakfast, they have ala cart menu and also serve buffet dinner at a very affordable price. Nicole and the rest of the service crew were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Our room was cleaned twice a day—once in the morning and again at night—something we didn’t experience at the other hotel we stayed in, where the room wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay. Additionally, Ayala provided complimentary sunbeds and umbrella when we went to the beach, which would have otherwise costs $15 per day if rented from the beach. They also lent us snorkeling gears and other swimming equipment for free, which was a great add-on. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and well-equipped, offering conveniences such as a kettle, coffee and tea, a mini fridge, a safe, toiletries, and affordable snacks and drinks.

Facing the beachfront, Stone Hotels Dhiffushi offers 4-star accommodations in Dhiffushi and has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and private beach area.

It was our first time visiting the Maldives. We stayed at this hotel for four nights. A few positive moments about the island and the hotel: 1. If you pay extra, you can get a room with a beautiful view and enjoy stunning sunsets every day. 2. The room was very clean, which is expected from a 4-star hotel. 3. The live music shows were enjoyable. However, there were several things we didn’t like: 1. Transfer:
Before our arrival in Malé, the hotel offered a speedboat transfer for $50 per person (round trip) and warned that we might need to wait for other passengers. We agreed, as it seemed reasonable. However, we ended up waiting over two hours at the airport for the boat, followed by another hour sitting in a rocking boat while they gathered passengers from different flights and even locals. It felt more like a public speedboat than a hotel service. Furthermore, the hotel knew our departure date in advance but never sent any update regarding transfer times. No life jackets were provided, not even for children. 2. Food:
We booked a full board package. Meals were served in a small room with only fans and no air conditioning, causing cheese, sauces, and dairy products to spoil quickly. The food quality was poor — tough meat, overcooked fish and chicken, and almost every dish was either very spicy or overloaded with black pepper. One time, my wife even found a piece of metal wire in her chicken. 3. Beach:
The small, narrow beach was meant to feel cozy, but because anyone on the island could access it, including local neighbors, it didn’t feel secure. There were only 12 sunbeds for the entire hotel, which were occupied from early morning until evening, as guests would place towels on them to reserve spots and leave. While there were more folding chairs available, they were uncomfortable for spending the whole day. During high tide, the water became extremely dirty. In the evenings, we found organic waste and sometimes plastic along the shore.

Amazing place to stay for your surf holiday or island hopping. Super clean rooms & great locational the island. I am solo travelling but with Hari as your host it feels like you already have 1 friend there. He helps out with everything & is always there, even went to the supermarket with me & cooked for me and saved my drone when I crashed it on a roof in town :D if I cold give 11 it was an 11/10 experience, everything perfect!

Such friendly and welcoming staff! Had great contact before arriving. They helped me sorting out transport from Male to Guraidhoo. We did 2 snorkeling trips which were amazing. Got to see turtles, sharks and Stingrays. If ever I’ll come back to Guraidhoo I’ll stay here again. Local breakfast was enjoyable. And lunches/dinner were really good. Clean room and great staff, nothing more needed on Maldives.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The location is literally on the shoreline where you have the breakfast served and you can enjoy good food.. the bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Hot shower, a kettle, a fridge and a rack. The AC and the fan on the ceiling also worked very well. Great value for the money. They also helped me to get the ferry boat tickets from and to the airport, and arranged the pickup at no extra cost.

YUVi Blue Maldives & spa has a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in Himmafushi. This 4-star hotel offers room service, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi.

Our stay in Himmafushi was absolutely magical, and it all started with Kona, who greeted us warmly at the dock. From the moment she picked us up, her kindness and attention to detail set the tone for an unforgettable trip. Kona went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and special—she even helped arrange our travel back and forth from the hotel, making everything stress-free. The hotel itself exceeded our expectations in every way. The waiter was attentive and friendly, while the chef's creations were nothing short of phenomenal. Each meal was a culinary delight, with fantastic flavors and beautiful presentations. Housekeeping was impeccable, timing their service perfectly when we were out exploring, so we always returned to a spotless room. The beach was pure bliss: pristine sands, crystal-clear waters, and, best of all, tranquility. Most of the time, it felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves, with only a few others around. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the natural beauty. One of the highlights of our trip was the candlelight dinner Kona and the staff arranged for us right on the beach. The soft lighting, gentle music, and full-service setup created an intimate and magical atmosphere. It was the perfect way to celebrate our one-year anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Tips for Travelers: Bring some cash or exchange for local currency at the airport; most places accept USD or the local currency. Get a SIM card at the airport for reliable internet access—it was a lifesaver for us. For transportation: After collecting your luggage, turn left when exiting the secure area. Walk past the information booth and Burger King, then cross the road to the taxi area. You can take a taxi to Male and then a boat to Himmafushi or, depending on the time, a ferry directly from the airport. Private speedboats are also available.

Maafushi is a great place to visit in the Maldives on a mid-level budget. As one of the first inhabited islands to open for tourism, it's very well-equipped to handle all tourist needs (accommodations, restaurants, excursions). Keep in mind that there's no alcohol on the island, but there's a party boat anchored just off shore where alcohol is served to tourists (or so we were told).

Just stunning, white sand, turquise waters full of life and tropical fish, and palm trees. The ultimate relaxation! It was rather hot in February (32C but because if the humidity it felt more like 39C) and we got minimal rain. Highly recommended for this time of the year.

I loved the proximity to Male for ease of arrival and departure. I also loved looking at the city lights from afar, whilst being separated by stunningly turquoise waters and the gentle sounds of lapping waves. The marine life in the lagoon was plentiful and beautiful, and I had many marine visitors near my villa at all hours of the day. The snorkelling with sharks-excursion was probably the single best experience, but the resort itself was the star of the whole experience. The quality of the villa (amazing bed, wonderful toiletries from L'Occitane, the view, the constant refill of free fresh water and Nespresso coffee) and the rest of the resort (amazing food, world-class spa) was the stuff of holiday dreams!

The beach is beautiful. I´m afraid it would be too crowded in a couple of years as the contruction of new buildings on the island is massive. Would be nice to remove the hakenkreuz that is sprayed on the wall in the harbor. Not a nice welcome sign for tourists.

Guraidhoo - ferry every day and easy to reach from Male, not so busy yet, not yet ugly concrete big buildings, bikini beach is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. White soft sand with turquoise warm water and sandy shore for fantastic swimming and walking on the sandbar - great for kids too, sunbeds and good cafe on the beach, there are corals and ship wreck for snorkeling and not to forget the shark feeding place - simply amazing to watch sharks and rays - great entertainment for the evening. There are great restaurants with fantastic prices. This island is amazing choice !

We only had 4 days and picked Huraa because it is close to the airport. A very bad choice. The island is absolutely not nice, full of trash, nothing is taken care of, even the bikini beach was a huge disappointment, dirty, broken sunbeds, only 6 umbrellas. No cafes, restaurants anywhere. The only nice place on the entire island is the Pearl Sands. It is a hotel, but you can pay a daypass to use their beautiful private beach including a very a good lunch. That place saved our vacation.
