Set in a bright, colonial-style building, Casa Tia Micha offers attractive rooms with free Wi-Fi. Located in the centre of Valladolid, it is less than 5 minutes’ walk from San Gervasio Church.

Lovely hotel full of character and charm in a beautiful and cleverly designed garden with a plunge pool and some tranquil seating areas. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, although the air conditioning was a little aggressive. Really excellent breakfast and friendly staff.

Offering two 24-hour pools, one nestled in a cave with salty, hot water, and a second one outdoor in the hammocks area, Hotel Zentik Project is situated in Valladolid in the Yucatán Region, 39 km from...

The restaurant served great food with a good variety. We ate there often during our stay. We loved the cueva- it was so unique and relaxing. All of the artwork and gardens were gorgeous with lovely little touches everywhere. The new ice cream parlour was another bonus at the hotel. I would come back to Valladolid just to stay at the hotel.

Hacienda Sisal was a wonderful cooperative that featured incredibly beautiful and handmade pieces of art (wearable too!). We happened to arrive right at the beginning of a festival and were able to enjoy some amazing live music on the main plaza!

The fact that the hotel was right in front of the main town square was key. All day Sunday there is a wonderful outdoor market in the square. The hotel's restaurant has excellent food and drinks. There's a rooftop bar/restaurant with very good food called Don Diablo above the hotel: make a reservation. The octopus was one of the best I've ever had. Get out early if you want to walk around town since it's so hot. IX CAT IK Mayan Cuisine Restaurant in Valladolid is excellent. Don't miss it!

Twenty Minutes wait before Hot water came out of the Taps. No ventilation inside the Bathroom, walls were black with mildew. Location was OK close to beach and Restaurants. Noisy people staying there lots of Partying , Swimming pool unfit to swim in it was dirty and filter was not working properly. Front desk was unfriendly only one person working in that Area. The cleaners were very good and helpful. Not a good place to stay at all.

Over all the stay was great, hacienda was beautiful staff was not the best customer service! Waiters were great receptionist were not attentive perhaps they made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome! Would I go again yes! Hacienda was beautiful, and I will definitely go back just because of the comfort, and I would like to spend more time to enjoy the pool and peaceful feeling. I would also go back to try the spa, si ce I didn’t have the time. If I go back and I receive the same customer service from receptionists might go to another spa!

El Cuyo is a small fishing village 3 hours from Playa del Carmen on the Gulf of Mexico. It is an adorable place with friendly locals and the beach is amazing. The only negative thing is that food is on the more expensive side for a small town and the roads to get there have potholes and lots of topos as you go through the little towns through the jungle. Better not to drive it at night.

Nice little town 70 km away from Merida.

Nice little town 70 km away from Merida. Izamal is connected by Oriente & Centro bus line and Maya Train/Tren Maya from Cancun and Merida. Train station is Kimbila, 12 km away. City of 3 cultures like Maya, Colonial, Modern times. Visited by Saint Paul II on a pastoral visit in August 1993, Ancient Maya pyramids, Colonial architecture, excellent restaurants and eateries with local dishes, Yucatan Henequen handicrafts, Henequen & Mezcal distillery, local museum, Monastery San Antonio de Padua with it's famous Blessed Virgin "Our Lady of Izamal " (she is magic and wondersome). Local Mercado with delicious Maya dishes like Cochinita Pibil (pulled pork in Achiote sauce), Morcilla (blood sausage), fried empanadas and longaniza, various taco dishes, local pasta dishes, venado (wild game), freshly baked barras (Yucatecan baguette) and sweat breads, fresh meats, cheeses, poultry, local fruits & veggies, herbs and local Mayan honey (excellent quality and inexpensive). Izamal is served by friendly, bi-lingual tour guides like Jose Carrillo Gonzales and others. Tour guides give local tours and they usually are available for a same day booking at the Monastery grounds.

Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.
