How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Warm and super friendly hosts, a balcony with stunning views, the room was cozy and perfectly clean, good mattresses, calm (you hear no noise from the street above) - all in all, highly recommended! Best place we‘ve been in Albania.

Everything was perfect, no complaints at all -- but perhaps some more detailed instructions on how to find the house would have been useful before arriving, especially for dummies like us who had to do a few loops before we finally figured out where the driveway was.
Above all, the hosts are kind, welcoming, and generous; available when needed but not in the way; and went over and above in making sure we had a pleasant stay. The apartment itself was clean, quiet, and well-appointed -- everything worked as it should, it was especially nice to have air conditioning in the summer, and we were even offered fresh sheets halfway through our stay. The view is magnificent and the environment is incredibly peaceful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hot water took a long time to come so sometimes we took cold shower. Not sure if it was a gereral issue or only in our room.
The owner were very nice and spoke well English. The location was perfect, very quiet yet very close to the main beaches. Vuno is a very cute village where you can eat very well.

We enjoyed every second at Vila Aleks. Most of all the stunning view on the big balcony. The hosts are so sweet and kind-we felt welcome in an instant. The kitchen was fully equipped, everything very clean. The matress was comfortable. Vuno is a lovely little town with great restaurants-we were very glad we chose to stay here. I would recommend it anytime!

ALL Albanian people are friendly but the hosts of villa Aleks are exceptional, great views and kittens walking around:) proximity to the beaches was very nice

The room was a bit bland, and no aircon.
Great host that made us feel at home and recommended local beaches and restaurants. The views are amazing, certainly one of the best areas of the Albanian Riviera! Oh, and a lovely fruit garden just outside your veranda!

Aleks and his wife are very caring and kind people, they wanted to give us an extra room for free while they thought we didn't have enough space. The view from the balcony is stunning. The place is very quiet also at night. Good place to visit Gjipe beach and some of the rare quiet beaches near Dhermi. Highly recommend!

Vila Aleks is beautiful, wonderful place to stay. Magical view on the canyon from balcony, lovely beaches near by 10 minutes by car. Communication with host is fast, easy, pleasant and they are very nice, kind people. Definately recommend this accommodation for everyone. Thank you vey much!

Nothing really! I’m not a big fan of the individual sheet on the bed and no duvet. But there are a couple blankets in the closet too.
Very clean, bright, gorgeous and private patio with an awesome view. About as close as you can get to staying near Gjipe beach. The little village of Vuno is cute too and we like Lula’s. I don’t think I’d need more than one night though. The hosts are the sweetest people and super helpful. One thing to note, is there’s a gate you have to get out and slide open each time you drive in (also I would want a car if I was staying here, most things are a ways away). If you were alone driving, it may be harder to get out and open the gate if you’re the driver. Sometimes I felt bad coming and going just because I didn’t want to disturb the host by opening the gate. He often came out and closed it behind us and I felt bad. He’s the sweetest.

I was sad that we could only stay one night because we had other plans.
The place is beautiful! The view from the balcony was breathtaking! All Albanian places that we have stayed have been extremely clean, and this one is one of the top stays! Finally I do not want to leave out the extremely warm hospitality of the hosts! Thank you!

The accommodation is located in a very quiet street with a stunning view. There is a balcony, it’s perfect to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine.There was no noise at all and we slept very well. The owner is super nice, speaks good English and helps out with questions.

One suggestion. A sign on the top road indicating you have reached Vila Aleks!
It's location and Facilities were great. Views were amazing looking out to sea. 2 nearby places to eat were good. Host who lives on site was helpful and pleasant!!

The owners of property are amazing and kind people ! They can give you good advice about area near by! also there is fridge in room and small garden near you .The place is also good to visit 2 beaches near by taxi was just 10/15 euros

Incredibly friendly hosts! You have a parking place for the car and the view was amazing. Everything went smoothly. We had the option to pay in Leks and also in Euros which was great. Very clean room.
