Hotel was clean but they didn't have any equipment or cups if we need to make a coffee in the room. So we had to ask for it and they provided a kettle and two cups for us to share among the two rooms. Rooms were cleaned daily even though we didn't request it. Which initially made us scared to leave valuables in the room. But it was nice when you are back you have a nice room. Make sure if you are leaving to take all your valuable items with you. There isn't any safe box to leave it. The pool was closed though it wasn’t mentioned in the description when we are booking it.

I did not like the fact that the weather was cold and rainy most of the day, which made it impossible to use the pool or get into the sea.

The spacious rooms have a sea view, the hotel offers breakfast in a massive, beautifully decorated dining area. I also like the location of the hotel, which is not far from the town center. The staff are very polite, always ready to help with any useful information.

Since we couldn't have digital boarding passes we had to pay 1€ each to the reception to print them. It hasn't been charged before. Expensive for a print, and it will make us consider if we even will book this hotel a fourth time.

The room we booked was the superior Double with a sea view on a bed and breakfast basis. There was a fridge in the room which kept drinks cool, but it would have been nice to have a kettle and some cups so we could make tea and coffee when relaxing on the balcony. We liked the look of the hotels own private beach, however we're not made aware that as it is out of season, there are some sea defence works being carried out, and this beach was closed. An email prior to flying would have been nice to inform us.

This hotel has recently been refurbished and to a great standard. A lovely comfortable super king size bed and not 2 beds pushed together like a lot of places do. The modern decor of the rooms, lobby, bar & restaurant makes the stay more enjoyable. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much effort. They all spoke very good English, meaning you could ask what you needed and they understood you. Although the official exchange rate from GBP to LEK should be a lot higher, I found changing money easy as there are exchange shops all over Durres. As we had a car we explored the country a lot and away from tourist hotspots, we got more LEK for our money. You can pay in £ or € in most places. However you will generally get 100 LEK for £1 or 1€. They prefer you to pay with € if you don't have LEK. Durres is undergoing a major tourism push, with a lot of construction and improvements wherever you look. Lots of new hotels being built, the new seafront and sea defences. However Hotel Vivas is ahead of the game and I would recommend a stay here, you won't come away unhappy, as we didn't!

The beach infront of the property is under construction and the pool not in use.

Location wasn’t great tbh. View was nice of you ignored whatever was being built in front of it. Really didn’t appreciate the incredibly noisy maids with their loud music and non stop loud talking. Guests do have lie ins!

Big hotel with lot of facilities. Staff are helpful. It was off season so not busy. The rooms are big and the showers very hot. Lovely beds. Breakfast is basic. Very good value for money.

Problems with juice and coffee machines. Breakfast was not more than ok. The food that was supposed to be warm was chilled down. There were no sunbeds and there were reconstruction of the beach promenade.

The service minded female receptionist helped us with flight tickets and got a tray for my wife to get breakfast to the room when I hurted my leg and couldn't walk.
